  • Well I'm about to send them another letter telling them I am cancelling and demanding a PAC, I have lost my patience with this.

I sent them a letter after receiving the text messages, took 8 phone calls for them to confirm that 1.22gb is over my 1gb tariff. Each phone call was approx 1 hour long

I got a letter back today stating that the out of bundle charges would not increase my overall bill by more than 10%
    £5 is more than 10% of £32.....

I then spent another hour on the phone to their Asian CS staff today where I was told that I would receive a £20 discount on my tariff for one year on top of my other discount, then I was told I would receive 2 £20 discounts on my tariff and then 2 20% discounts........ this was from a manager

I was told that I would be allowed to terminate however would have an ETF of approx £500, is it worth getting that and paying it then taking them to court over it as I fear from the 1st of October I wouldn't be able to do any more...

To be perfectly honest I'm appalled at how incompetent their members of customer service are, they refuse to acknowledge any statements from Vodafone UK staff on other service channels such as their eForum on their own website or on Twitter and I feel ashamed to call myself a Vodafail customer. I am sorely tempted to also bill them for the time spent calling them which was required to be made during work hours at my call out rate (as I obviously couldn't work due to the time I was on the phone) and for the time I spent in line waiting at the post office to send the letter to them, as well as the cost of postage

AFAIK the 1GB limit is a hard cap and was never subject to a FUP. If you meant 500MB then disregard this, however if you have a 1GB plan then I've never heard of such a plan being included in this fiasco.
  • The ETF is the remaining month's line rental EXCLUSIVE of VAT minus 2%

I made a point of asking and was told it was a soft cap, annoyed I didn't get this in writing. But on the other hand it is an 'older' YP plan and my contract doesn't state anywhere the amount of data included. It seems very few phones were actually offered with this (which is why it strikes me as odd as the press release states I will get double my data.... and no one has offered me 2GB data bundle or can offer any real explanation why

Having been quite vocal to vodafone about the out of bundle charges they accepted my request to end my agreement without ETF and their rep Andrew (who seems to be the one assigned to keeping as many customers as possible who have requested termination) offered me a few options to try and keep me. One of the options was the 1.5GB mobile internet, which i understand a few people have been offered. After some haggling and getting a cheap iPhone4 :-) i checked out my new plan on my online account. After 24 hours it had changed but only said 1GB Mobile Internet. I questioned this to VF CS and they said I had 1GB Mobile Internet and 500MB for Tethering......HOLD FIRE VF, thats not what we agreed. Fortunately I have email confirmation from the rep of what was being offered, and it specifically states 1.5GB MOBILE INTERNET. If you see on their site, Tethering is an optional buy and their web page on tethering specifically states its billed differently to mobile internet....so theres no confusion on how they can put it on my plan within the 1.5GB mobile internet.

IF anyone has been offered the 1.5GB Mobile Internet please make sure you have clarified that its for Mobile Internet (like i did but somehow thats not what theyv given me). Ill be speaking with them tomorrow to see what they think they are playing at....fortunately im within 7 days cooling off period.
  • Same guy (andrew) came to me as well...

    Offered me 3 deals:

    1) Take 1.5gb a month package (locking me in for a furhter 12 months) and reduce my bill to only £20 a month instead of £35 (this includes unlimited text and 600 min)

    2) Cancel Contract and Give me PAC code

    3) Give me a new contract at reduced rates with a phone of my choice (with 1.5gb too)

I took option 2 and cancelled! I'm happier to go on a monthly contract and change things how i see fit! I have already received my PAC code, and i'm out!

    AT LAST!!! :-D Thanks everyone
