HTC Desire Vodafone 500mb Fair Usage Policy

It gets better. I have tried phoning 191 as i wanted to check what the procedure is for taking my dispute with Vodafone to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and whilst the chap on 191 was helpful he wanted to go through the whole thing instead of answering my query.
According to him my account does in clude 600mins, 3000texts and 500Mb mobile internet, and the future discount will be 19.15 plus VAT (£22.50) which is correct, but if i use 600mb each month i will be charged for the extra 100mb at £2 per mb so my bill will be £217.50 per month.
I repeatedly tried to point out that i did not want to discuss the charges but that i wanted to seek a solution to my dispute, preferably using ADR. His manager is in a meeting (aren't they always), so somebody will call me back within 24 hours.
Whilst on the phone i got a text message through and now i listen to my answerphone Lee has called me about my latest email, but will be calling me back.
Frankly i am quite angry about all of this now - even if i get what i was sold it's not good enough. Far too many chances have been burned through by Vodafone to give me what they said that they would, and not i expect to be compensated. They'll need a very compelling reason to stop me from going elsewhere now and cancelling my contract. It's an utter shambles!0 -

The Basra call centre is a waste of time and effort....
According to tom_vodafone (who's about as useful as ashtray_motorbike the charging strategy is :• No handheld data bundle – 50p a day for 25MB & 50p for additional 10MB
• Handheld data bundle – Handheld data bundle £5 a month, or £7.50 with a flexi-bundle £5 for an additional 500MB
So i'm guessing that as I have unlimited internet bundled with my price plan i'll be charged £5 for every 500mb (currently about £15 this month then?) and once they issue the charge I have 14 days to cancel?
I think...
Can't believe they closed the thread though... free speech is alive and well at vodamoan...0 -
I will be leaving my phone streaming overnight now... not that i need to to go over as i'm approaching 1gb for the month already.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0

I've been on my phone a lot this morning so now have two answerphone messages from Lee who will be calling me back again after 1pm. I should be off the phone for hours now so will wait to hear what he has to say.
Was tickled by the automated call i received after speaking to 191 earlier - it as a series of questions about whether i am a satisfied customer or not. I'll let you guess my answers!0 -

Done
My personnal count of "people successfully turned away from Vodafone" is currently 5, doing my bitIf your current price plan has “YP” at the beginning of its code (see the first page of your bill) then you’re on the older version of the premium plans and are eligible to move to the new ones. You’ll pay the same as you currently are per month for the same allocation of minutes and texts, but with twice the data allowance. The handsets this applies to are: HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Desire, Google Nexus One (which was previously 1GB), HTC HD2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Samsung Galaxy S or Nokia N900.
Is that more wrong info? My plan was "YP" at £40/month (though "only" 18 months though) and they wouldn't let me move to one with 1GB of data without losing all my unlimited calls to landlines, so much for the "same allocation of minutes and texts". Have now arranged something more satisfactory through the Director's Office after emailing the CEOs.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Just received my second text message, im guessing they send every 500mb as ive just passed 1gb for the month.
The text said you can send STOP to 40506 to stop receiving these messages, this would mean that you wouldnt receive any further warnings i guess so according to vodafones statement you would then not have to worry about being chargedTESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
I also have "YP" on my bill but i have got a N97 mini.0

Just found a which article on it - at least O2 have the sense to apply it to new contracts only after a set date.Existing customers and those that sign up before the 24th June will continue to receive unlimited data if they stay on the same tariff with the same handset. However existing customers that upgrade to a new handset or deal after 24th June will be moved onto a capped plan from 1st October.

oh and spotted this what are the chances of that (something stinks):The mobile giant says that that 97% of its smartphone customers use less than 500MB of mobile data per month, so the new usage caps should only affect 3% of new or upgrading customers on O2 smartphone tariffs.
I just want whoever i take a contract with to stick to what was agreed and not change it to my disadvantage, not much to ask.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0
