You will find that Section 11b in their terms and conitions means you only have to look at the past ONE MONTH not three.

I sent vodafone a letter 2 weeks ago and haven't recieved a reply.

Email Reply from Vodafone - they ignored everything i asked in my email.

I'm sorry to learn that you are upset and wish to cancel your contract.

I can see that VMI (Vodafone Mobile Internet) is included in your price plan.

I'd like to inform you that we will be reviewing the usage and if you continue to use more data than your allowance consistently over the coming months, we'll let you know via text about your usage and offer an alternative data plan to avoid incurring out of bundle charges.

I spoken with my team manager and can add a £5 discount on your account for VMI for next 2 months.

If you wish to agree, please get back to me with the confirmation and I'll add it on your account.

    Cancellation of Contract:

You are in an 24 month commitment period, which started on 3rd January 2010 and will complete on 2nd January 2012.

We need 30 days notice to cancel your account.

If you wish to cancel your contract before the end of your commitment period an early cancellation fee will be charged.

This will be the line rental charge for the remaining months till the end of your contract.

The early cancellation fee as of today is £561.84.

This is the line rental as of today. You will receive 25% credit on your early cancellation fee in your next bill.

You need to call our Customer Care on 191 from your phone or 08700 700 191 and select option 1 followed by option 2 to pay the early cancellation fee.

Once the early cancellation fee is paid get back to me and I’ll arrange for the cancellation of your account.

The final charges for the cancelled number will be added on the next bill which generates at the usual time after the number is cancelled.

We look forward to taking care of you in the future.

    Kind regards,

    Shatika Jadhav

Until one of you take this to a court to be decided, your wasting hours of you life over a network provider.

If you ALL emailed watchdog at the same time, you might just get a program researcher consider a 5 minute slot on the program. If you carry out a straw poll of Vodafone users, about .05 in ten are aware of this issue and it's this situation Vodacrone are relying on.

It's too contained within 'consumer forums' to make any headway. Get it into the public domain.

How about 10 of you strip off naked and run across Tower Bridge with banners screaming " Vodafone stole my bandwidth ". Think outside the box :)

I've just had an offer to change to the following:

YP2 (Your price plan) 300 minutes + 500 text + Vodafone Passport + 1GB data plan for £25.54 per month excluding VAT.
YP2 (Your price plan) 600 minutes + 500 text + Vodafone Passport + 1GB data plan for £25.54 per month excluding VAT.

Currently, I have 300 mins and unltd. texts, but I'm not a great texter; having a 1GB allowance seems better to me. The price remains the same as my current plan. Odd that both seem identical...

Throwing my toys out of the pram on Friday and emailing the CEOs has borne fruit - they have now come up with an arrangement that works for me, no extra cost and no extension of contract and which they have managed to set up correctly this time...
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail

    Are you on unlimited now?

If so call vodafone back and ask them what happens if you go over 1gb on the unlimited tariff, you will not get charged, it will be three months before they even suggest charging you and even they cannot charge you, if they do then you are free to cancel. As it will mean they have broken the T&Cs of the contract

By agreeing to a 1gb capped tariff you are signing away this right, and they will also charge you the instant you go over.

They are offering you this in attempt to cover themselves, not because they are feeling generous, this whole thing comes about due to vodafones greed.

Cross posting this, i think i've only had one or two posts removed but just in case.
Now that the iPhone 4 has been officially announced i'm even more keen to find out what on earth Vodafone are up to.

With any luck i'll get another reply from the Webteam this morning in response to the reply i sent yesterday. Have been dealing specifically with Tom, and then Lee.

Any day now it will be 4 weeks since my first email sent to Guy Laurence, even that was days after first contacting 191 in regards to the news about Mobile Internet and charging for use over 500mb. I've had all manner of comments and reassurances that it was a mistake, that there would be no charging, that the allowance would change, that accounts would be monitored, that account would be charged after warnings, that the charges would be per day, or a monthly charge under contract for the duration of my contract - a whole month after first being alerted i am basically still none the wiser.

On the one hand i am told clearly that use over 500mb is what constitutes 'excessive', and that repeated excessive use will be charged at £5 per month, and then on the other hand i am told that i am not informed about any charges yet. If i am to be charged and my bill increases to more than 10% greater than usual then i can cancel without penalty, but apparently i am not to be charged so this doesn't apply.

I'm afraid that sounds to me like Vodafone saying - "most of our customers won't press us on this matter - so those that are difficult we will either string along for a while before they press us enough to leave, or we will possibly excuse them of the charges as to do so will be cheaper than letting them leave free of penalty - overall based on a risk assesment of the situation this is the cheapest way of making changes until people have to renew their contract and are subject to our new data allowances & charges"

Now forgive me for being a skeptic - but having spent a month trying to get to the bottom of all of thisi'm no better off than i was a month ago.

I tell a lie - my bill should now be charged at the rate it was sold to be, which has taken 6months to rectify, and since Customer Services didn't actually correct the issue for my most recent bill i actually have Lee at the Webteam planning on monitoring it on or around the 25th of June to check to see if it has happened this time!

Come on Vodafone - i'm not being unreasonable. I just want my bills to be correct, my tariff to be as sold, and to have simple questions answered honestly by Customer Services - the same answers to me as if any other customer of yours phoned to make an enquiry.

You are shooting yourself in the foot repatedly. Why don't you make some gestures to disgruntled customers to make up for a lack of service?

Yolina i'm sure everybody would be interested to know what you have been given that you are satisfied with?

Personally i'm not satisfied yet, as i'm still in no mans land being told we are going to start you if you do X, and in the last month i have done X, and will do so for the remainder of my contract therefore i will be charged - so i want a deal or i want out.

I'm just sitting waiting patiently for the charge to be applied to my current £30 a month line rental. Soon as it is I'll cancel penalty free using clause 11b.

Until then I'll continue to use my n900 'Internet Tablet' in the manner in which it was sold to me...

Just got the text 'warning' me as well. Whats the recommended course of action - just sit and wait and do nothing until actual bills with higher charges start rolling in?
