    what a bunch of liars!
    :rotfl:

'Jamal' the 'Senior' Customer Services Agent has also told me that the £5 charge was introduced in 2009, he compared the charge to my out of bundle minutes. He also (and I couldn't help but laugh) helpfully pointed out that the vodafone web site quite clearly stated there was a 500mb limit on n900's... yes mate, but there wasn't in bleedin February! He also threatened to terminate the call when I called him a liar? Must be a cultural thing...

I'd been waiting for the text since I saw this thread as I knew my usage was well over 500mb (on an n900 i'd have to go some to NOT breach 500mb a month) but i'm suprised at their stance, basically they told me to 'put up or shut up'.

I'm getting nowhere with the Indian Call Centres (I think that may be the point of them) so I've emailed Customer Services pointing out under section 11.2.c I have a right to cancel.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Apparently if you look at the back of the PDF bill it says:

Unlimited* Internet & Email Talk more abroad for less Warp speed Mobile
bills securely online On Your Mobile

    *500mb fair use policy.

Dont know why it isnt on my account

I am still awaiting my first text message.

Upon receiving this holy text, my plan of action is to:

    - Email VF asking where did they define FUP excessive usage,
    - Where are the charges announced in my contract T&Cs.

Can someone comment, if this is a fair plan of action ? And anything to improve on this ?

    Reposting!

Well i've today been told that those of you who have received a text, or who have been billed already for use above the limit - well you are either lying or it is a mistake on the system !

I got a call after multiple emails to Tom, and posts on the eForum. In addition to the mobile internet issue i've had other problems with my account which have been Vodafones fault, Lee phoned me to i think sort it all out, and i am currently waiting for confirmation in writing by email of the things that he assured me.

I have been told that i may not be charged, nothing has changed, and should i be charged in the future and my bill increases by 10% or more then i will be eligible to cancel without penalty. Apparently there is a lot of wrong information going around, including from Vodafone staff, and along with the uncertainty and chinese whisper effect things have gotten into a bit of a storm in a teacup. As i say i'm waiting to get our conversation on the phone confirmed - just have to see how that goes. I made it clear that i have read all the information and statements from Vodafone, so i am not expecting a simple parroting of that, if i do then that'll be the final straw for me and i'll simply use the PAC i have and let Vodafone chase me for the charges.

how do i find out my current usage, i have left my phone to sit through 3 of the longest videos on youtube (4 hours total) and still haven't received any text

i have a feeling that youtube is fairly heavily compressed, so you might not have used as much as you think, streaming iPlayer would use more.
