Agree with those that say that academically autumn and early winter babies do best. My DS is April and my DD October. When I adjust for age I would say there is very little in it for intelligence, but my DD has found school much easier and my DS has seemed to do better and better academically over time IYKWIM . There is the girl and second child thing, obviously. Girls are less boisterous on teh whole at 4/5 and my son was a typically boy (quote from his nursery!) 200 years ago he would have been the toast of the clan running up and down dale waving his sword at a young age, but modern life is less accepting of sword waving!!!

Both of them left Primary with 3 level 5's, so in theory nothing in it.

My DS is seeming to come more into his own now maybe because he has realised he can't sword wave or just over the years native intelligence has overtaken the few months that others have on him. He has commented though that his 6th form seems to have a lot more autumn birthdays than spring ones. Must ask DD if the same is so at her Grammar school.

For pure baby time definately spring baby, the weather is lovely and you get teh whole summer with them as tinies and the early morning feeds don't seem so bad when it is getting light. Washing is easier and you get that patch of sun for the jaundice!!!
