When is the best month to have a baby?

I don't think there is a better month, you could be due in one month but baby decide to come the month before or even after. If you are ready to ttc then you just go for it!
If you do end up with a Christmas baby, you just plan to get things done before hand and let family help out if you have dinner at home. My 17 month old was only 4 weeks old at Christmas and I found it to be a great time, just a bit tired.
My other children were born in July. I think every month is a good month!
my eldest was born on the 20th december 2 weeks late but she loves it as the decs are up i just organise my self so that im ready for her bday and xmas it has never been a rush, and my 6 year old is 24th march so more or less an easter baby so they are both happy they were born around ish school holidays:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0 -
I'm with the 'Happy with what I get' brigade:) I was trying for 12months almost....at the beginning I was very similar to you, thinking about when would be the best time etc but as time wore on(slowly with plenty of mood swings!:o) you care less and less about the month it'll be born in, for some, if it doesn't happen straight away, it becomes more and more consuming until its pretty much becomes the only thing you can think about. as you're just beginning to ttc, enjoy the excitement while it lasts, it'll soon fade
sorry for sounding pessimistic and jaded:o FWIW I got my much longed for BFP just under a year after we'd started to ttc, funnily enough we found out just a week before our pre-agreed doc appointments for various tests to why we hadn't conceived yet:) Our baby is due 31st October:eek:...definitely NOT the date I would've picked if I could have chosen:p but tbh I don't give a $h!t:D, we're just happy that we can conceive and besides, babies rarely turn up on their due date anyway;):)
Good luck, hope it happens quickly for you ,and I highly recommend visiting the ttc thread, the girls are fab and can answer all those questions that are deemed *TMI* on other threads...nothing is taboo over there:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

I thought the academic intake year in Scotland ran from the eldest being March born and the yougest Feb born, unlike in England where the eldest is September born and the youngest August. Is that not always the case? I am assumming you are in Scotland due to not only your location but your saying P4 (Primary 4) instead of the term year 4.
It is but March-August 2001 was a slow time round these parts! The two that are older are August, and then he is September, so is one of the oldest in his class. I should have explained that really.0 -
I concur what Confuzzled has said.
having been ttc now for 6 months, and having suffered a miscarriage in January, I'd be happy with any old month to be honest.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
:rotfl: If only it was that simple!
Sorry but im with confuzzled on this one, i spent 18 months ttc following tests / bad news / more tests and finally fell pregnant in dec, so my baby is due in sept and i really couldnt care less if its "too hot or uncomfortable" this summer. I have my baby and thats all that matters
Hope ur journey is a good one x0 -
I don't think it matters at all, the time of year made no difference to any of my pregnancies, and I certainly didn't stop ttc at any point because it wasn't a good month, I was just lucky to get pregnant at all.
I have June, July and October babies. Here in Scotland March children are the oldest in their school year - dunno why we are different to England
I would only say around Christmas isn't the best time for a birthday though - in our family we have one 2 days before christmas and another 2 days after, but I would still never have actively tried to 'avoid' that month myself.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. DD was born on 2003, and marvellously I had her 2 days after the highest ever temp was recorded in Brogdale, near Faversham in Kent. As the crow flies, I am about 10 miles away
twas 38.5. Hot.
DC2 is due in Oct, but as others have said, just get trying and when it happens it happens :rotfl:0 -
I have tried for 6 years to get preggers and I finally am woo hoo, due Sep 2010, so I will be heavily pregnant during the summer and have my maternity leave during the winter...boo sucks. But you know what I don't really care cos I am actually having a baby, yeah for me.0

Had our son end of Nov and its horrible doing night feeds its cold, miserable, dark, had 2nd child April which was much better, then had child no. 3 end of Nov, was horrible again with it being cold etc. We did manage with no. 3 better because we did know what we were doing by then lol, and she slept from 8 weeks. I would say anything from march-june :-).0

As someone who is trying to conceive at the moment the best advice I can give you is not to even think about it. You really have no idea how long it will take you to get pregnant, or what might happen if you do.
We started trying at the end of last April and was happy when I got pregnant at the end of September as it meant an early summer birth, however we lost our babyand are now trying again.
Whereas before I was dead against certain months of the year I really don’t care about it now. We just want to get pregnant again and get the baby we want no matter what month it is born in.
Just enjoy trying and see what happens – after all you have very little control over the outcome so try not to get too hung up on such things - ttc is stressful enough without making it harder on yourself.
