Our house has a birthday in
April
May
June
July
August
and...you guessed it...
September.
DD born in June was only saying the other day that she loves the timing of her birthday, midway through the year. I wouldn't wish being heavily pregnant during a hot summer on anyone. I think nature has it spot on- springtime is a great time to have a baby. Easier to do the drying too!Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -
Junior is born in October and as far as I was concerned he could have been born any time after 31st August as I didn't want him to be effectively a year younger than those he would eventually be at school with.
Having said that if it was a choice between him being born healthy before 1st September and have problems and being born after 31st August I kow which one I would have chosen2014 Target;

Ive carried two during the winter who were born in the april and one through the summer who was born in sept and my new one who i will be carrying through summer and is due end of august. The carrying part has its own problems being winter or summer so to me it doesn't make much difference but with a new born i found the spring babies alot easier no having to smoother them in clothes and blankets all the time washing was alot less and they got into good sleeping patterns alot easier with there being a big difference between between night and day and them getting more sunlight and fresh air during the day :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

I have a November and June baby and I am January and OH is July. There are benefits to all of them !!
I hated every second of being pregnant in the summer with my DD though as it was a major heat wave and I was HUGE !! lol And summer maternity clothes arent as pretty as winter ones !!
Here the youngest in a year is at the end of June, so my DS will be the youngestAnd I am not keen on that, my January is fab because I got loads of presents as everyone could afford more in the sales !! lol
The two best things I have done with my life

From an academic viewpoint it's best to have a child between Sept and Dec because then they'll be one of the older kids in their year-group at school and will probably find the work a bit easier. They also often start the reception class a bit ahead of their younger class-mates and so will prob get a bit more one-to-one time with the teacher in their first term.0

We had babies in Feb, June, July, Aug, Sept and Nov.
I didn't like the winter births so much, as I worried about them being cold or having too many blankets, and was forever rearranging, etc.
Same problem with summer babes, as I was worried they were too hot.
I think I thought Sept was best, I've since discovered the added bonus of them being one of the oldest in the class, meaning an extra year at home with mum, which worked well in our experience. The Sept and Nov babies seem to have thrived from having the extra home time and starting school a little later than some. The babes born in Aug I have always felt could've done with the extra year.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
My birthday is the week before Christmas, which as a child was awful when I got one combined present and my brother got separate Christmas and birthday presents as his birthday is in May. As a parent you can make sure you don't do something like that but be prepared for everyone else to not make much of an effort as they are too busy with Christmas. I have a small circle of friends who all buy small gifts for each other on our birthdays and even at my age (waaaay the wrong side of forty
) I still get gripes about my birthday being a nuisance. Some friends eh? lol I've heard people whose birthdays fall just after Christmas say much the same thing.
My elder daughter's birthday is in August. I worried about her being the youngest in her school year but it was never an issue for her. What was an issue however was the year she turned eighteen. Her upper sixth year was one long year of eighteenth birthday nights out in town which she couldn't go on as she was still under age. It was something that really got her down.
My younger daughter's birthday is at the end of March and we've just been through the eighteenth birthday thing again, but thankfully only for half the school year this time. I don't think I could have stood a whole year of constant moaning and complaining.
When they were small bouncy castle in the garden type birthday parties were obviously easier for the August birthday, but the downside was that it was in the middle of the school holidays so getting the invites to, and replies from, her school friends was a bit of a headache.
I didn't mind being pregnant in either summer or winter. Getting pregnant wasn't that easy or straightforward for me so I was just thrilled to be pregnant full stop.
Good luck. Start on that folic acid and have lots of fun.0 -
I have summer, winter and spring babies, then I stopped.
Being pregnant through the summer is only a problem if it's a very hot summer, and we don't always get one of those.
The additional 'central heating' of being pregnant meant I had warm feet for the first time in aaaages... so that was always a bonus.
None of mine have suffered from being among the younger ones in their year - I know DS2 is one of the older ones, being my winter baby, but they're all equally bright!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
8th-10th October. Anything outside of that and well you know..have you ever seen the Omen films? You've missed this years conception window so good luck next year.0
