Hi All,
I don't want to hijack the thread - I signed up to MSE for some advice on my first mortgage (gulp) but I couldn't help noticing one of my company's rivals getting blasted.
Bill DL is right in a lot of what he says. Many online retailers in this sector do not stock or even see the goods a lot of the time. Therefore delivery dates and other information can change dependent on couriers and suppliers. The same goes with returns and refunds. We have a supplier who only allows us 48 hours notice for a customer to report damage, else it's not covered. I'm sure the staff at QS aren't being a pain in the backside for the hell of it.
However, the extra few percent you might save by using a company like this means they have a few percent less overheads such as no customer service staff!
At the risk of this sounding like an advert for my company, I'd just offer a useful piece of advice to anyone buying in this sector; most websites aren't trying to rip you off with a higher price, simply covering real costs like staff, stock and distribution. It's always better to spend a few quid more for peace of mind.0 -

Oh I wish I had read this thread before handing any money to these people.
I apparently got off fairly lightly compared to the rest of you. I ordered a tub and a cloakroom suite and much like everyone else here received the 'your order has been successfully dispatched' email before they called to tell me the cloakroom suite was unavailable and offer me a totally different and unwanted alternative. They were more than happy to refund me though, and my refund was processed quickly and...unfortunately...completely. The bathtub arrived as ordered with a broken bath panel, which I have now arranged to have replaced and collected but as they refunded the order entirely I guess for now I have a completely free bath tub sitting in my lounge. As a result I've refused to pay them anything further until the panel is delivered and is in good condition.
It's been a stressful and difficult day trying to speak with a manager to complain and eventually got fobbed off with a store supervisor who I'm sure I'd spoken too earlier in the day, and asked to speak to a manager and been told he was 'out for lunch' at 2:00pm. But regardless they have no respect for customers or service or any care for repeat business or bad reviews.
Glad to hear people are going to court and reporting to standards agencies.
Save yourself the stress and don't order anything from them.
As for you Greenpilgrim89, don't think there was any need to gulp. Your point is well made and, at least for me, well taken. You get what you pay for in the end!
UPDATE having done some digging around and looking closer at this thread it looks as though someone has used my name (with an extra e, very cryptic) and my order details on trustpilot to endorse qs supplies on the day I placed my order with them. I have reported it and will be following it up. Suspiciously waddellds posted the exact same review on the same day here (my surname is waddell). I'm pretty sure this is fraudulent. Please if you have ordered from these people go to trustpilot and check your name and details have not been used to endorse these people! Google use trustpilot heavily.0 -
:mad:QS Supplies is by far the worst dealings I have ever had from any company, ever. Some 'customer service' training would without doubt be highly beneficial. None of the staff even have the decency to sign off the emails, prefering to remain annonymous; it is obvious why.
For example, I rung up once and was told 'everyone was busy' so I asked for a call back. The male phone operative said he would get someone to call me back. He was about to hang up when I said 'won't you need my number to do that?' He said 'yes' and I recited my number. I then asked the man to read it back to me to ensure he'd got it right. He admitted he hadn't actually bothered to write it down! Absolutely appalling.
The item delivered was not what I ordered and when I rang to arrange a correct delivery I was accused of lying and had to send them a photo of the wrong item to prove it. When it did come it was not as the website advertised. They would not give me a refund even though I'd returned both items at my own expense, until I contacted Trading Standards and reported them. They even denied receiving one of the items until I pointed out that I'd sent it tracked mail, a staff member signed for it and it was visible on the track and trace website. I was then told to prove this to them.
It is clear why QS Supplies doesn't have a customer feedback section published on it's own website.
Maybe future customers will be treated better, however, I really doubt it.0 -
I would advise never to use this company!
They delivered incorrect good which were late!
Did not accept any returns!
Failed to refund me any money!
Avoid this company like the plague!
The manager is diabolical, rude and extremely aggressive!0 -
Can't believe Leicester trading standards have not taken this shower down yet. They lie cheat and steel your time and money0

I too have had an awful experience with this company. I ordered from this company last year and they failed todeliver a full order - they delivered a w.c. pan but not the cistern. The terms and conditions on their website say that they will contact you prior todelivery if an item is not available. They did not do this. When we first contacted them they seemed very helpful and assured us that the missing item would be with us within a few days. We kept calling every few days and eachtime they had a reason for the delivery being delayed again. Then a couple ofdays before the builder was due to fit the toilet they told us it would beanother 6 weeks. We had to source a new toilet from elsewhere at extra expensea nd with only 24 hours to find something. What was worse the company refused torefund us for the w.c. pan despite them not being able to deliver a complete toilet. We found this experience hugely stressful and would never buy from them again.
I can tell that this company invests heavily in its online presence - for example they have very high rankings on google. However, in my experience they have no concept of customer service.0 -
I ordered an item in January. I was still chasing delivery of this in May. Eventually, toward the end of May they sent me a product but it was incorrect. After several attempts to get through to anyone I finally recieved a response telling me that they had been in touch with te manufacturer and that the item I had recieved was correct. I could see clearly that they had sent me to incorrect item and got in touch with the manufacturer myself who confirm that the item was indeed incorrect and that they had no such phone all with QS supplies. Finally QS agreed to collect the wrong item but warned me that if I was not in during 9-5pm on the collect day that I would be fined and charges a recollection fee!!! I tried to explain that the fact they had to collect the item was down to their error therefore I should not be liable for any charges! They have had my money for 6 months and I STILL have not recieved my item. They have collected the incorrect item but still have not sent me the product that I ordered. What is worse is that I have not once recieved an apology of any kind and their communication has been arrogant and rude. This had got to be the worst customer service out there. DO NOT BUY from them. There are plenty if negative reviews all over the Internet about QS Supplies. Interestingly there are many postive ones on Trust Pilot - I can just imagine that their staff spend all their time posting these rather than dealing with customers. I just wish I'd read them before I placed my order.0

I was just about to order some basin taps priced at £144 as a replacement for the bathroom suite I already have. Just spoke to them by phone and thought I would look to see if there were any discount voucher Took me to this forum and I will definately not order based on what I have read here. Thank you and thanks too to Martin Lewis forums for helping me avoid a Company that so many people have had a bad experience

I have been pretty horrified to see the number of negative posts here - some dating back to 2010. So disappointed that this company is continuing to trade. I have just been "got" by them too. Very smooth purchase and delivery, but when trying to return an item as it was unsuitable, I was repeatedly let down by their collections team and until it is returned I won't get my refund. I'm still trying to get the item collected so I can get this purchase refunded.
I have been to the Trading Standards Agency and have been advised to write a formal letter of complaint, stating that I'm holding them in breach of contract under the Distance Selling Regulations Act. In my case it's regard to remedy, as they've been wholly obstructive. I'm sure this will apply to many of you too.
I'm trying to get hold of the Director's name so that I can send this by recorded delivery.
I urge everyone to do the same - it's a headache but this company needs to go and the more complaints made to the TSA, the better.0 -
For anyone interested I know the owners name and email address. PM me to discuss if you like... I used the address on their website to send him his letter before action.0
