Ordered over £850 of bathroom supplies. Shower tray defective so e-mailed QS the next day who then asked for photos which I did.
They then asked for more photos which I have sent on 3 occasions but they are denying that they have received them (despite a member of staff confirming that they had). They will not arrange for collection of defective shower tray until photos have been sent so I am arranging my own delivery back to them. I have also e-mailed trading standards about problem.
The company will not handle any complaints over the phone.
Whilst the prices are good, the after sales is extremely poor. Consumers need to decide whether they want to spend their time (at what cost??) trying to get this company to fulfill their obligations when things go wrong against the potential savings they make from the initial purchase.0 -
Having ordered several items from QS Supplies and having no problems with delivers or returns, on the 26 October 13, I ordered 3 fairly expensive taps, paid in advance as you do and, was told delivery was expected in 3 to 4 weeks. True to their word, 3 weeks later, 2 taps turned up.
I called to ask about the 3rd tap. Apparently it was out of stock and would be 2 further weeks. On the website it says "Stock Availability : 5 Working Days Apprx - and the website has said this since the day I made the order.
Twelve weeks later and I am still waiting for this tap. I have been told I can not have a refund as it was a special order, it was expected in 3 to 4 weeks. I have been told it will be delivered next Monday for the last 5 weeks. I have been told it is on the next container and expected in the warehouse on Thursday for the last 6 weeks. I have been told the manufacturer doesn't have any in stock. I think I have been told the first thing that comes into the sales person's head, so I go away.
I have even rung up, enquiring about purchase said tap, to be told it would be approximately 5 days delivery if I ordered it! When I asked them, why the one I have already ordered so many weeks ago has not been delivered, I get told they have to order them from the supplier and then put me on hold!
So I have now sent a recorded delivery letter to tell them they have not delivered the item in a reasonable time, time is of the essence and if they don't deliver it in the next 10 day, I will have a full refund, all under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.
The strange thing is, I rang a local bathroom company and they are able to deliver this tap in 10 days, guaranteed or a full refund.
Lessons learnt:
1) Read reviews, despite the previous good services.
2) Don't believe a word the company says or that is written on their website.
3) Buy from anywhere else.0 -
Apparently the tap arrives tomorrow! We will see.
I spoken with Trading Standards Consumer helpline 08454 04 05 06
Apparently QS Supplies have breached several laws!
Trading Standards Consumer helpline were very helpful and said the more people who call and tell them of their experience, the more likely something will be done about this bunch of idiots!0 -
Have been told by people in the industry, that they owe loads to the companies they buy their products from, so cannot get items until they settle outstanding bills.
IMO, No one in their right mind should buy from them, they have taken no notice of manufacturers demanding they take their products off their site, they have no regard for good customer service and are causing issues with the manufacturers in the industry I am in, with their disregard of whats right and wrong.0 -
Hi, just to say that I ordered some items from QS and one of them was broken. I only discovered this when the plumber went to install it, 2 weeks after delivery.
I then found this site so was somewhat nervous about getting the item replaced, but I contacted QS and although their communications aren't the sharpest, they did replace the item immediately and it all worked out fine.0 -
Still up to their old games it seems. They would not refund me for a returned item. I was on the point of taking them to court when I remembered that I'd paid using Barclaycard, who got my money back for me. Excellent result after dealing with an unscrupulous company. Do not use!0

Just to add my dissatisfaction with QS supplies. Fortunately I only purchased £10 worth of goods from QS but it is principle.
I ordered a flush pipe extension to fix a toilet that was leaking. I had not received a dispatch notice or the item, so two weeks later I emailed the company telling them that I had fixed the issue using a part purchased elsewhere (a leaky toilet being a rather urgent situation).
I asked QS to cancel the order and issue a full refund, ironically, perhaps too coincidentally, I received a dispatch notice 5 hours after sending the email. I refused delivery of the item and sent a second email to QS informing them that I started a chargeback claim with my bank.
I didn't get a response to the initial email, and after reading these reviews I'm not expecting a response to the second one. We will see how it goes, but judging from their response to my request for refund (i.e. quick send the item) I think this might be a long drawn out process.
I would have avoided QS had I seen these reviews beforehand, and would strongly advise others AVOID QS SUPPLIES!0 -
Just to say thanks for all the posts as I was fortunate enough to check before considering placing an order for rather a lot of stuff for my new cloakroom and bathroom. Looks like I've been saved a lot of grief by the online community. Thanks again0

I originally intended to use QSsupplies as they are very cheap but was dissuaded from doing so by this thread on MSE, and other review sites. The next cheapest was AQVA but I also found many bad reviews similar to QSsupplies (read the AQVA returns policy before you buy from them - it is literally nonsense).
I finally bought my bath and bits from ryansdirect.co.uk. I was a bit wary as I had not heard of them before and they are reasonably cheap prices. I could find no reviews at all for them (apparently it's a new website), but I decided to try them and I am very happy with them. They were very helpful and knowledgable when I made enquiries. When I asked about the difference between two bath wastes they advised me to get the cheaper one because there was no real difference. The delivery driver was very helpful and told me to take my time unpacking the items to check everything was OK before I signed for it. Throughout they phoned and emailed me to keep me up to date with what was happening.
Of course this is just one person's experience but if, like me, you can't really afford to pay the prices that the big name companies charge I would certainly suggest having a look at Ryans.0 -
QS supplies sells products they can not source & then refuse to credit your funds back in to your account straight away. So in other words they advertise product which they know they can not source collect our funds & refuse to give it straight back. I think they then use our funds to buy supplies or pay wages until we complain.
So please don't buy off QS supplies as the company should never hold on to customer funds when they can not source a product, every normal company credits your card straight away.
DO NOT BUY OFF QS Supplies This is not a good company.0
