I also want to add my recent negative experience with QS Supplies. I wish I had looked at reviews before trying to buy through them.

I placed an order of around £250. For a few weeks I didn't hear anything, although they took my money on the day I ordered. I had to contact them asking where my item was. A reply saying that delivery had been put back a few weeks. No apology or anything. A few more weeks went by and nothing, so I emailed again. Another reply of the same sort - delivery date has been delayed, no apology. This went on a few more times, until I decided that I was waiting for something that may well never be delivered, so I cancelled the order and requested a refund.

QS acknowledged my request and said it was being 'processed'. I then heard nothing for a couple of weeks. I contacted them again chasing my refund. 'It is being processed'. I drew their attention to their '30 day' refund policy. No reply. I chased a few more times asking where my refund was, mostly being ignored. On the 30th day I submitted a claim through my card company and also passed their name to Trading Standards. I emailed QS again and said they had gone beyond the 30 days of their T&Cs and insisted the money be refunded immediately. Finally, it was done and it reached my account about 36 days after I had requested the refund.

I have dealt with a great many internet companies over the years and this was hands-down the worst experience I have ever had. No doubt if I had not kept chasing, they would simply have kept my money. I suspect they try to wear people down until they just give up and write the money off. As it was they kept hold of it until the last possible moment, even in breach of their own T&Cs. I am going to continue to chase this up with Trading Standards as I feel something should be done about their shoddy practice.

QS clearly do not worry themselves too much about customer service as they are not really in a business where they rely on repeat custom. After all, how many people get their bathroom done more than once? And by the time you realise how useless they are it's too late because you've already handed over your money to them.

I would highly recommend everyone to avoid using QS Supplies, and for anyone who has used them and been unhappy with the service, please report them to Trading Standards. If they get enough complaints they will investigate.

Bearing in mind the no. of sales they must make annually the no. of complaints here doesn't seem excessive. There's less than 50 complaints on these boards which cover 3 years. I'm looking at qs supplies not because they're the cheapest but because their range is phenomenal; I simply can't find what I want anywhere else. The vast majority of sales must go thru smoothly otherwise there would be thousands of complaints posted.
  • Wish I had done research before ordering from this company. They do have a wide range of stock & this is what tempted me. Soon after ordering I knew something was off when I didn't get email confirmation of my order. Phoned them next day & was told i should have & that my order had been dispatched! Great so no dispatch confirmation either. They said it will arrive tomorrow so will keep you posted.
  • I had an awful experience of QS Supplies having purchased an expensive Franke kitchen tap which arrived late and damaged. I immediately contacted them and was accused of lying about the tap being damaged. Four written complaints later I'm still waiting to hear whether they'll replace, refund or just continue to ignore me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - THE WORST INTERNET RETAILER I HAVE DEALT WITH TO-DATE. :(

Only a minority of dissatisfied customers will take to the internet to complain. The quality of any company isn't whether they can undertake simple transactions, but how they deal with problems. On this basis, together with their record in the Courts (as detailed in other posts), QS Supplies fails miserably,
  • If you order and they say its in stock, don't trust them. The management are so rude. When I said that I was annoyed that no one had contacted me even on the delivery date (that i paid extra for) to say they didn't have it the response was - so that's your problem, stay annoyed. What do you want me to do about it?!
I wish I had read the reviews in the first instance.
The risk is yours - you've been warned....
  • To contrast with QS service, we were renovating our house and ordered 2 baths (and a lot of other stuff) from Home Supply. The baths were not unpacked for two weeks as the plumbers were not ready to install and, to my horror, both were broken, one very badly. After explaining the situation and an inspection by the manufacturers, we were sent two replacements. I am sure the damage was done by the couriers but this company were superb and did not quibble or try to shift the blame: homesupply.co.uk
    Je suis sabot...
  • I wish I'd read all this before ordering from these crooks. Received the wrong product... impossible to return it.... no refund... all the same story as everyone else. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!
  • Thanks for the heads up on this company.
Saved me a whole load of hassle.

    Happy New Year. ;)
  • Just to join in with the other dissatisfied customers of QS Supplies.
I placed an order on for 3 items 19th Oct to the value of £230.
The items were delivered 3 days later, however the WC I ordered was only the pan because I had apparently not ticked the box to include the cistern - I checked the website and fair enough the tick box was there so technically my fault. The issue with this item was trying to return it as, the cost of the cistern plus delivery made it prohibitively expensive - the pan was in "The Sale"! First they said they would arrange collection at £29.99 but then retracted that offer when I tried to arrange and said I must make my own arrangements and take full responsibility for any damage that my occur on the return.
The other two items I had ordered were found to be totally destroyed inside the packaging. That's when the fun really started. You cannot speak to anybody in customer service, you can only email. You can speak to somebody in orders but they do not deal with orders that have been delivered.
I had to provide photographs and full details of the damage which is fair enough. Eventually collection was arranged and I then waited for the refund on the goods. Each chasing email was met with "any refund would only be made following a full investigation and will take up to 30 days on completion of the investigation". I had to chase again and again and eventually received the refund 2 months after the initial order.
At no time during the process did I receive an apology or any offer of compensation for my inconvenience.
Needless to say no more ordering from this company and I would advise others not to either as there are equivalent offers from other companies who provide the right kind of service as well.
