Lazy postman couldnt be bothered to knock door !!!

Both myself and wife at home today. Was sitting there and heard the sound of a letter coming through the letter box.

Went to have a look and it was a red letter from post office saying couldnt deliver parcel because it was too big. Opened the door to see po van disappearing around the corner. Looks like the lazy sod couldnt even be bothered to knock the door (despite there being two cars on the driveway).

Anyway, phoned number on card and told them. Apparently, their making the driver come back now.

Cant believe the laziness....

Ours used to post these cards through regularly (always hidden in the middle of the other post). He was on foot, leaving his car at the entrance to our estate, and I once opened the door to him and surprised him. He didn't even have the parcel with him. Naughty boy.

Is it just me that has a fantastic postman? Perhaps it's because I live in a small village and our postman is from the same village so everyone knows him. Anyway I've never once had any sort of problem. Couriers on the other hand......

We have a wonderful postman here. If he cannot deliver something (usually because I am still in bed) he comes back at the end of his round to try again!
  • This has happened to me too. I paid extra to have a parcel delivered the next day, I knew what time the post normally came so got up early to wait for the parcel..... no parcel, just a red delivery note! Aaaggh.

    Fat Andy,
I too am in a small village and have a fab postman, will always find somewhere to leave a parcel for me! Must add that a few of the couriers that come out this way are pretty good too-one even drove out of his way to tell me that he had left a parcel and where he had left it(I was dog walking at the time)

the other weekend i had a parcel 'delivered' - i was in the kitchen cleaning, when i noticed the garden gate was open (i had been to the bin by the gate shortly before and it was closed) when the postie left the parcel outside the door i would have been visable with my back to the door. could he knock on the door - apparently not!! lazy sod!!

I live in a quiet village, if my postie has a parcel for me and I don't hear him knock, he brings it to back door, opens door, chucks in parcel (nicely) and shouts "Postman". :D
