Last Friday I got an email from the solicitor which was also posted asking me to give authorisation to commence the searches. I replied on Sunday to say go ahead, as well as mentioning something else.
On Tuesday I spoke to him, if he had recived email which he said yes to.
Today I got another email, asking for authorisation again. It seems he had missed that part on my email. So a delay of 4 days to start the searches.MFW 2015 - #88 £3,345 / £3,500

Formal mortgage offer received from Natwest. Yay!!:j
Took 4 days to come through so not bad at all. The valuation was instructed yesterday. Hopefully everything will be ok!0 -
Congrats Blondie! My lender seems to do things in a bit of a backward way, I had to submit absolutely everything and then the valuation was done and only then did the underwriter assess the whole thing and formally offer me a mortgage. I suspect that this is different from how most other lenders do it?0
-
Mine is kind of the same - we submitted everything to the Halifax and were advised the underwriters would review our application in 3-4 working days, then would review it again following the valuation.0

Argh! I just called the surveyors as survey was due today and found out that Halifax put a hold on the survey and valuation. Although my application is through an IFA I just called Halifax direct as he is on holiday this week. Turns out they want 3 months' payslips and P60 to check proof of income, but the request went to our IFA and since they didn't receive them everything has been stopped for now.
I am so stressed out and worried as I am guessing this means we are a borderline case! We were originally an A+ when we did our MIP in September, but since then my credit report showed I was using a lot of my credit available. However I have now cleared all of my debt, but obviously the credit report has not yet updated to reflect this.
However it also could be as one of my boyfriend's payslips was a bit less than normal (he still isn't sure why) so maybe they want to check that his salary is what he says it is?0 -
stop worrying Sharon - all lenders ask for proof of income so it'll hopefully be a simple tick in the box when you've sent them - yes a few days hold but nothing to worry about
Glad everyone's moving along nicely0 -
Thanks LE3 - guess I am just worrying as I know advisor sent across some payslips when he did app... Guess I will have to wait until Tuesday to find out what's going on!0

Tuesday- more calls to MB and solicitor
@sharon - as LE3 says, payslips is normal - and if they want 3 months then theyll be able to see that its a bit less than normal - can you send direct rather than waiting for IFA to come back from leave? Hopefully its just a pause, and not a stop!0 -
I got the full homebuyers report through yesterday and it has flagged up a possible problem with high moisture content in the floor timbers so I think we are going to get this checked out, hopefully it wont delay things as the searches etc will still be going on while we get this checked out.
Does anyone know how long searches take? Our mortgage has been agreed, so how long will it all take now?0 -
I so understand what you are going through as our mortgage offer only came through on friday after weeks. We applied with woolwich/barclays and it took over a month for the offer. We got the valuation and everything was fine with that, 2 weeks later we were still waiting and they phoned up to ask about council tax banding. We then got the offer 3 days after that to much relief. With the bank holiday we are waiting to speak to our advisor and solicitor to find out when we can move in (new build).0
