    Update on my timeline:

    17/5 Offer accepted
    18/5 Instructed solicitor
20/5 Mortgage application submitted and now with underwriters - they will review in next 3-4 business days when received payslips and review again when valuation and survey carried out, which is scheduled to take place on 28/05.
28/5 Advised Halifax had put a hold on the survey as wanted further proof of income - IFA away so nothing was sent
1/6 IFA back in the office, docs sent. Turns out our case was picked to be randomly audited.
2/6 Advised all fine and approved - valuation and survey re-booked for 9/6.

hope your survey goes ok! Someone form a timber specialist was visiting our property today, should get the report in a couple of days so I hope it goes ok!

I sent a cheque to the solicitors for the searches yesterday and they are underway, he said they only take a few days, so fingers crossed the timber damp wont be too much of a big job!

Then i think we are just waiting for the contract from the vendors solicitors, any idea how long that takes? I want to get moving! x

I'm in the process of trying to find a surveyor at the moment - it's turning out to be really difficult! They're either stupidly expensive or else booked out for weeks in advance :(
