Cant be far away now. I gave them a call to say my circumstances will be different this year and they've adjusted the payments accordingly already.
  • The Renewal packs are sent out in priority order EG first to claimants in receipt of benefits such as Income Support, JobSeekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance and Pension Credit. As long as you renew with us before 31st July your Tax Credit payments will continue as normal. If you still haven't received your pack by next Friday give the Tax Credit Helpline a call on 0845 300 3900 and ask them to check if it's been issued, however the helpline is likely to be exceptionally busy through the renewal period. Also, the renewal packs are sent out as Second Class post.

    hi all.
    hope someone can help
i was just wondering if we would be due a re-imbursement on our tax credits award for 09/10. our joint salary received for 09/10 was more than £2000 less than we originally stated it would be to the tax credits people. obviously we only found out when we both received our P60s last month. we've been waiting for our renewal but still not received anything. do i need to do anything other than complete the renewal? any help on the reimbursement would be appreciated.
    kind regards

    Hi .

I *think* the way it would work in a situation such as yours that you receive 39% of the under payment back (39% of £2,000)

So i would expect you to receive an amount of £780 as a lump sum into your bank account once your renewal has been dealt with .

We renewed over the phone 29th April and within 6 days we had a lump sum of £1,500 in our account . This was expected by us owing to the fact that we had a massive drop in income during the year owing to my husband changing jobs.

It couldnt have come at a better time.

So , as soon as you receive your renewal pack in , get on the phone to tax credits and give them your income details for the year , hopefully you will receive your payment as quickly as i did!

Hopefully you will get confirmation of this soon.

Doesn't it depend how much you get in the first place? If you are still within their threshold limits then it won't make any difference!!

    many many thanks joanne.
my missus (and other staff) had to take a paycut in their job to enable her boss to stay in business and therefore keep their jobs so any extra credit would definitely come in handy.
    many thanks again.

We got ours really early and don't receive any benefits so I think TC lady may have been talking out of her bottom! :D

Which was what I thought when she told me. :D Anyhow still received zilch through post and we could do with money now as OH started new job Monday so things are going to be tough for a while, and they owe us money for last years award as I underestimated earnings,

    Lee.

I know how you feel !

It's been a tough year for my family as well and money has been tight at times but hey you get through it dont ya?

Hopefully it wont be too long till you receive your renewal forms , as soon as you do get on that phone to tax credits and give them your figures then you can get your money !

Tax credits are a total night mare to get through to at this time of the year , if you want i can send you the number i used (i got it from "saynoto0870) my call got answered straight away , the good thing is its a local number so saves you holding on the line of an 0845 number.

So lee , let me know if you want me to send you the number and if theres anything else i can do for you just give me a shout. Im only too glad to help where i can
