Maybe someone else would have not started this thread. But until we are in a bg's shoes we mustn't think they are without feelings too.

Martin has made it clear that you should not be discussing individual members, no matter who, as per the rules, so I suggest you discuss it with him rather than other users.

This was in response to this question you raised here below, not a referral to ther people's comments. Why not raise such a question without mentioning names on DT, as you are bound to get lots of opinions over there.

It really saddens me that such a small and insignificant matter has reduced what is normally a good natured, friendly board to this mess.
I genuinely don’t believe that ANYONE has meant their initial comments to come over in the way they have been taken. It is very difficult to convey tone to a forum posting and understandably people are defensive when they perceive things in a way different to their intent.
The idea that MrsE was seriously comparing PP to Hitler is plain silly! She meant I’m sure that a high handed approach had been taken, nothing more. Worded badly though, without any doubt (for the record I do not agree with her and felt PP was totally correct in trying to stem an ugly debate from getting worse. It will not be the view of all, but hey-ho!!

The idea that any of the posters who wished to concentrate that particular thread on some of the more ‘luxury’ foodstuffs and how to reduce their cost without changing their diet too much meant that they were looking down on anyone is equally daft. We are all entitled to spend whatever we want (and can afford) on food and the defence mechanism of some of those on the other side of the food debate was, in my mind at least, oversensitive. I can honestly say that I have seen nothing that realistically should do more than raise an eyebrow!
Everything that has followed appears to have been built on top of this, with many mis-quotes and misunderstandings along the way.
PLEASE EVERYONE, LET’S JUST FORGET IT
Ps. Pen Pen – I’ve already said it here, but none of this reflects badly on you. Thank you for all you have done, have a good rest and pop back when you feel ready.

Yes, different reasons, except that to me that does constitute substantiveness. A BG has done her job to which some take exception. That is the lot of the BG. Then a thread is started on another board to complain about her by an upset user. The BG responds by saying to her own board that now she's had enough and goodbye. She's entitled to express her feelings about this, in the same manner feelings against her were expressed.

The above is the situation as I see it on the basis of the thread started about PenPen in the feedback board, the linked thread she closed, and this thread.

Anyway, I'm no longer a regular inhabitant of this board so maybe I shouldn't have stuck my nose in, but this thread caught my attention and I couldn't just pass it by.
