I don't happen to think they were unfounded accusations. Penny stated a fact that she had been likened to Hitler. I support her right to be upset about that and her decison to leave as a result.

I am sure this was the outcome PP expected when she made that post.

It must be great to be able to read people's minds.

I dont post on OS (yet, I may do so from now on in) and am clearly not in the gang, that does not concern me. I posted to agree that the second thread had been summarily closed, I assume you agree I am allowed to pass any comment on any topic I see fit?

Of course you can say whatever you like. Whatever makes you happy. You fill your boots. And can someone tell me who the gang is and where they meet. I'd love to join as I thought I'd left my gang days behind when I was about 9.:j

Like I said - nobody has called you a witch. There is mention of a witch hunt but that is something quite different.

Ah well. There you go. You're correct of course. I meant that I was referred to as a witch hunter. I actually took the post in the context that since yesterday MrsE has accused me and others of not wanting a certain type of thread on OS despite there actually being nothing further from the truth. When the thread was locked she saw this as evidence of our objection to it and declared a witch hunt. I rightly or wrongly assumed that I must be one of the witch hunters but I posted witch by mistake, due in part to me being tired and quite possibly in part to me not being very bright :rotfl:. Or maybe I DO have a distorted view of the English language. Who knows?
I am well aware that MrsE has no great love for me and it bothers me not but I will defend myself and others as I see fit.

Anyway. If you'll excuse me I have a pitchfork to polish.

I am simply doing as you have done ( several times, and at length on here and elsewhere, regarding this topic) and defending myself against what I consider to be unfounded allegations. Nothing more nothing less.

You may or may not be interested to know I have received several PM's stating that they agree with what has been written and but that they cannot face the outright hostility to those outside the OS circle that has been shown here and so cannot post their views. What a sad endictment of a supposedly friendly board.

A gang/clique is in evidence when people post that they have not read the offending comments (as several have done) and yet go on to make nasty comments about other posters just because they are long time OS posters.

With regard to the Little Hitler comment, Mrs E has explained and apologised for that. If that was the one comment which caused PP to resign as BG then that surprises me, but that is her prerogative. However, the inference is that there were others, and that as I was involved in objecting to certain actions that some of them were/could have been mine.

Where have I been anything other than polite or civil in getting across my pov? We had a difference of opinion, and yes, I am tenacious in certain areas, fairness being one of those areas, but I never get personal or rude, although I can return the compliment if pushed. Fortunately I rarely am, as facing a class of 17 year olds every day is good training for remaining calm under fire.:D
