I found it highly insensitive earlier on in the thread when people were accusing me of sponging off the state and sleeping around.

Could I please see the post/s that made this accusation?

    Awww play nice now!

To be fair (havent read it btw), if someone has had a pop at you BS, that was one person with an opinion on you (just you, nobody else)

You made a comment about ALL pensioners, which is different because you're not just talking about one of them, you were talking about them all in general.

If it wasn't for the older generation, we wouldn't even be sitting here having this discussion would we because God knows if we would have even been born!

We owe a lot to them and I know some have bees in their bonnets but that doesn't mean they are ALL like that.

How did a single parent thread get on the subject of oap's and the war? The topic has changed more times than i've had hot dinners!
In BS defence there was more than one person making those comments, sorry cant remeber how far back

My post doesn't say all pensioners, it actually says "all the pensioners I know". I don't claim to know every pensioner in the UK. And I stand by the comment I made about all the pensioners I know.

Also just for the record and for viktory heres the 2 posts I found which accuse me of scrounging off of benefit of which she thanked both:

I would like to point out YET AGAIN that I am not on ANY benefits.

Sorry BS, I didn't go back to check, I thought you said all, not all you know.

Still, if they want to go out and lunch every day and go on a cruise 3 times a year, what business is it to anyone else?

They have lived their lives (and they never had it as good as we have it now) and so should be able to do whatever they like with their pensions or benefits.

Forgot to say, I don't know why that poster said that you were on the dole.

Even if you were on benefits, you certainly wouldn't be on the dole because you have children! lol

Quite frankly BS you are wriggling . If I said all the young mums I know are single and on benefits you would be on me like a ton of bricks. I think you just need to apologise for your nasty attitude to the older generation.

This looks like yet another thread that will be closed because you back yourself into a corner and lose any credibility you might have had. However the thread has run it's course. And I am being nice to moneysavers by trying to stop BS make herself look foolish.

I agree with the rest of your post though :D

Because it has gone totally off topic and I am rather surprised that BS has not been shouting for it to be shut down as she does that when she does not like what is said or gets her own way.

If you don't like what people are going to say then don't post and so you then have nothing to moan about.

I have to agree with Edinburghlass I really don't have time to care about what people think about me when they see me in the street. They can think fat c0w for all I care.

Someone can be a one legged purple alien and be a single parent for all I care.

And saying all the old people I know. What is that 1 or 2 or maybe even 5 or 10 that still does make what say a generalisation. That is like people saying all farmers are rich. yeah in there dreams you might see one or two farmers riding around in big fancy cars but that does not mean it holds true for the whole population of farmers. Which you seemed to be trying to suggest by the few old people you know.

And the other thing is they are older have had longer to earn and save their money. Maybe they have remortgaged their houses that is why they have money. You don't like people commenting on your lifestyle choices. So what has it to do with you if they do go to the pub everyday for lunch etc.

Just like us not being allowed to make comments on what single parents spend their money on just like it is nothing to do with a PWC and NRP what they each spend their own money.

    Yours

Sarahsaver you really should not generalise. How do you know for a fact what some of us older ones think? You apparently know ONE person, this is not a reasonable amount to base your conclusions on. I know a lot of young people who are rude, loud and aggressive in their manner but I do not suggest that they all are.

I know one woman who was a SINGLE MUM in the 1950s. I know what she thinks, and how society treated women in her situation at the time!

I have unfortunately encountered a lot of rude older people on buses. I didn't say you were all like that. Read my post again, that is what I meant.
