Personally I wasn't party to that exchange of views (it is a long thread!) but even so I don't see how it relates to our war veterans.

It does if you live off benefits.

How come all the elderly people I know eat in pubs every day and go on those escorted holidays which cost £600 odd each? Maybe they sacrifice heat for that?

Does that make you the same as anyone making the assumption that anyone who is single and young who has a baby is doing it for the benefits and getting a council house. Because we all know that there is a very small percentage that do.

Not all older people eat out in pubs everday and take expensive holiday etc. Rather a Daily Mail attitude if you ask me.

And I also think to say that people who fought in the war to allow us to be free have a chip on there shoulder is very distasteful and disrepesctful. But if I had said that about single young mums living in a council estate I would have been lynched.

And if you think being a single parent is hard prehaps you would like to go and fight in the trenches and see what those young men (some in WW I where as young as 16) had to go through. That is something I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I really think that this thread should have been closed a long time ago.

And going back to what the thread is actually about. I have never thought being a parent single or otherwise is easy any way. So why anyone would think that others think it I have no idea.

    Yours

All that strikes me is that some people spend far too long wondering about other people, people on buses, in the street, neighbours, folk in the pub for heavens sake:confused:

Maybe I should have stuck a message to my wedding finger when I had to get my rings cut off due to a broken wrist, heaven forbid that someone should actually think I wasn't married

Whose business is it if people wear a ring, go on holiday or heaven forbid are a single parent, absolutely no-ones but the person concerned so try and take that onboard before spouting off.

    :)
