Today I gave stuff away! (does that count?? It was frugal for the recipient
) A rocket plant which I took one leaf off to try and it was really really nice with a peppery kick and 2 michelmas daisies which we didn't have room for (given to me by family).

I weeded a neighbours front garden in return for an evenings babysitting- and was allowed to help myself to some things that had self seeded!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Just put my courgettes out in a planter made of old tyres, covered them with cut off lemonade bottles to keep them warm.. Got a tray of those tiny plugplants for 49p- white geraniums so have just planted them on in amongst some cut and come again salad. Now going through seed box to see what to plant in the space in my tiny greenhouse, using old food trays as seed trays. Went to Aldi yesterday to see if they had any of the cheap compost left but all that was there was gro bags and they are usually cheaper at Homebase. The black sweetcorn that someone kindly gave me is growing well, cannot wait to see the results of that one:)Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
This is my kind of thread..lol :rotfl:.
I was splitting some primulas at 8.30 this morning and although I payed for the originals (only 60p each btw) I got 12 new plants . Moved 2 self seeded bleeding hearts too:D
I have loads of perennials in the garden and I did buy some at my local (cheap!) garden centre over the past couple of years -I always buy something that will split.
My dad just dropped off some ornimental grass from their garden along with some rhubarb (to eat) form a friends allotment.:T
I have just found some aquilega seeds that my auntie gave me and need to get some compost out of my bin to plant some up.
I have saved loads of marg tubs for seeds and the lids make great drip trays so you dont end up with soggy windowsills...although my neighbours probably think I have an utterly butterly addiction.. all baught on bogof of course !!:D
I have asked my dh to pop into morrisons on his way home and pick up some flower buckets as I am fast running out of things to plant things in and they must count as frugal at only £1.50 for 10:)JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Found a biscuit tin from Christmas which is now housing all of my seed packets.
My MIL laughs at me (not in a nasty way!) because everything I buy these days seems to be a bargain. :rotfl:
Have got so much more than I would have been able to afford at the minute by getting stuff from Poundland or cheap from supermarkets. I also like the reduced/clearance sections of Focus, B&Q and Homebase... Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

My sil has a nack of buying "dead" plant bargains and bringing them back to life. She has the most amazing twisted hazel in her front garden that cost her about a £1! I just scrounge plants that she has revived when its time to split them:D ...she's got her eye on quite a few of my plants too:rotfl:JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. Is splitting primulas as easy as it sounds? I got quite a few this year and most have grown really well. I was out deadheading them at the weekend and they have lots of new flowers coming through. Mummy to an amazing little girl0

I got a rose from Focus for 90p, reduced from £5, about 6 weeks ago and it's already looking good, got lots of new growth.
B&Q seem to be the worst for keeping their plants reasonably healthy, half the clearance ones seem to be there due to lack of water!
That twisted hazel sounds fab. Mummy to an amazing little girl0
