Ooo how could anyone abandon a plant! That's shocking, at least it's got a good home now. I'm rubbish with azaleas can't keep 'em alive :rotfl:
Well done pookie and icecream on the wooden bin find and wicker baskets find I'm jealous!!Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -
Dh has been collecting all sorts of containers from work, which would only have gone in the skip, plastic storage boxes mostly.
So I have used these as tubs for growing things in as we haven't got all our garden cleared and ready for planting.
Most of the seeds I have used have been the digin ones from this year and last, with a just a few bought ones to fill the gaps; I have bought a few veg plants which we were way too late to sow seeds for (sprouts and leeks) but otherwise the only cost has been some potting compost for statring the seeds off and for the tubs.
Next year will be better as we will have our own compost to use so may only need seeds and maybe a bit extra compost for starting off.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

I got the wooden bin from the local greek shop, it's used to keep the water melons in. Shall try and get another on in a couple of weeks as the neighbours are giving us their kitchen compost waste."Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"

My next door neighbour has a bamboo tree in the garden. The gardener had chopped it down a bit but put all the trimmings in my bin. I have been merrily taking out the bamboo canes for my garden!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

I know! Cruelty to plants, that's what it is... It's been potted up with some ericaceous compost and seems to be doing okay, well so far anyway!
It's my first, so fingers crossed! Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
I took some small pots to the garden centre recycling skip and in return got bigger pots for my tomatoes. While there, I also got 3 hanging baskets and a propagator that was still in very good condition
And this was the day after I made £115 in sales from my plants at the school fair! A good weekend all in all.0 -
I have split and repotted some basil seedlings out of 1 pot into 3 outs :-) I am looking forward to lots of herb to use in pasta sauces."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Hubby has just come home with a wooden double garden seat with attached table in between. Apparently, the owner was putting it out for the council to take away as they couldn't be bothered to rub it down and paint it.
I now have a lovely shabby chic hardwood garden set (that originally cost over £100) for nothing."carpe that diem"0
