I've just noticed that some of you are students. I really feel for you, I'm lucky enough to be old enough to have got through Uni whilst there were still grants. Both OH and I think about you students and look at where we are now and realise that if we had started out with these huge debts we would be in a smaller house with an even bigger mortgage. I don't think I would have been in a position to be a full-time-mum either.

Oh dear! If it makes you feel any better scottish, I appear to be going backwards this week. Have just checked the totals of all my debts, and some how they all come to £100 more than I had calculated. Boo hoo. That means that this week's mini pay packet will go down the drain, paying off stuff I thought I'd already paid off.Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

 Just wanted to say good luck guys!!
The competitive element is really spurring us on. My other half has got some evening work lined up for next month as a second job just so he can stay in the game! he also is spending loads more time scratching his head thinking of ways he can get more money in the pot, its great as he's never done anything like this before. He keeps muttering things like 'you wait until next month' and is still on about tortoises and hares! I think its the fact that i keep ribbing him as to his woefully inadequate efforts so far and that I'm clearly going to kick his rear in this competition!!
Best of luck, it'll be really interesting to see whose going to raise the Hallet virtual trophy!! :grouphug:0 -
Hello everyone,
Sorry about yesterday - I was on a bit of a downer and could see everyone paying stuff off except me and I felt like a bit of a failure!
I am really chuffed for all of you and please don't stop posting about your achievements - I realise my comment was quite negative - I just didn't want to be lagging four/six months after everyone else - and everyone thinking "will she just pull her finger out?"
Congratulations everyone and I'm still in the game! I'm on course to pay off £150 off my Barclaycard this week and was at a meeting yesterday where I was confirmed at least another £40/£45 a month (£53 this month) for doing some work in my village. I still have £95 to come from Quidco and £8 from Amazon and about £75 from confirmed babysitting gigs so its not so bad!
I just haven't seemed to start yet as I've been waiting for stuff to clear to pay off the first £150 - so frustrating!

Good to hear you're feeling more positive this morning.
Sun has come out here (well in between the black clouds anyway) and that always makes me feel more cheerful.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

Today I found £3.50 in a coat pocket. It was so hard setting up the bank to pay barclaycard that now I love annoying them and paying off any little amounts that come in. So, today i'm paying off the £3.50.... yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!January budget

Hi Guys. Mini pay day for me today, but it has all been swallowed up in correcting my little 'miscalculation' I'm off to see my parents for the long weekend, so wont be around to post until wednesday. Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday - and that "money is coming easily" to you all. ciao for now :wave:Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:
