I've know about this for a few weeks now - if the Desire stock remains iffy in August I might postpone my upgrade for one of these.
... but IMHO it wont cheap.

Got this on quidco:
Dear member,
As you know we do our best to help you earn as much cashback as you can. The cashback you make is passed to us from the merchant you purchased from via an affiliate network provider, we then pass 100% of this on to you. It is therefore with great regret that I have to advise you the Deal Group Media UK Ltd affiliate network (DGM) has ceased trading with immediate effect and all payments made to the network by the retailer will now become a debt to the retailer.
What does this mean for me?
As you have recently purchased from one or more of the merchants below we will not be able to pass on the cashback as we ourselves have not received, nor are we likely to receive payment from the DGM network.
We‘re shocked and disappointed that this has happened to a network. We have only found this news out today and will do all we can to reclaim your cashback, unfortunately on this occasion we don’t think we’ll have much joy.
We are now working with the appointed administrators of the network to see what monies may be forthcoming and will keep you informed.
The retailer’s that are effected by this are:

We never like to hide behind terms and conditions but in circumstances like this, we do have to quote from our account holder agreement as follows:
“The Quidco Service allows Account Holders to earn referral fees cashback on tracked purchases from Retailers. To qualify for cashback, the Retailer must confirm that the Account Holders purchase is tracked, genuine and successful (constituting a \"Qualifying Transaction\"), and your resulting referral fee must be received by us (becoming \'Cashback\' as a result).”
You may see the retailers above remaining on the Quidco site. This is because affected retailers may switch immediately to a new affiliate network and continue with their affiliate business. However, this will not be related in any way to existing transactions and enquiries.
I am very sorry to deliver such bad news to you, but we did want to make you aware of this situation as quickly as possible.
Kind regards,
Dom Butterell,
Head of QuidCare
So it means buymobilephones.net no cashback expected anymore?0 -
Styla, When did you get this? I ordered with Vodafone which was declined a while ago, and I had appealed it which is still showing as being processed, I see Vodafone are on the list, so assume that will be £100 lost!I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Also put an order in yesterday with Mobilephonesdirect for the 18 month 300 minutes unlimited texts £25 per month deal. Asked if they could do the unlimited internet rather than the unlimited texts, said no problem and will sort it with the connections team. Will still have 300 texts a month which is ample.
Told that it will only be a change of the flexible booster and the data limit will be 3GB.
Been given a delivery date of up to 14 days, so very happy with this deal.
Thanks for this, have now got same deal the only thing is the bloke said it would oly be 1G internet and when I queried this he sa id it was because it was thru a reseller. Still a good deal. I got told beginning of August.0 -

Hi all you do then is phone t mobile and say you have a desire they wil change it to 3gb and give you another booster! I managed to get a reciept from t mobile that i bought a phone from them which they didnt ever sell when i bought it from dialaphone so t mobile will change just be persistant0 -
Any hints as to what to say to T-Mobile to get the 3GB internet FUP? I upgraded my existing T-Mobile contract a few days ago through https://www.chitter-chatter.co.uk (free Desire, £25pm / 24 mth for 600 min / 500 txt) and despite being pretty persistent with the twitter team, they wouldn't budge on giving me the 3GB allowance. I'm actually more annoyed about the fact that, if what I've seen is correct, the 1GB FUP allowance is also speed-throttled to ~350kb/s, rather than 'true' HSDPA speeds of ~1.5Mb/s.
Thanks,
trogit0 -
