I'm surprised there don't seem to be any really good deals any more.

I got my Desire from T-Mobile as a new customer for £10/month, 100 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet. £160 for the handset (with £40 cashback from Quidco) and so that comes to £360 over 24 months! Or £240 over 12 months.

Icant find this deal online, where did u got that offer from ??

    Hi,

I got offered from Three UK (existing costumer) 300 minutes, 150 text for £10 a month (plus £5 Internet add-on which is optional) over 12 months and £200 upfront for the handset. Total: £200 + £180 = £380 for 12 months.

That's still £31.66pcm, which doesn't look very good value.

why dont you guys check out the deals on the samsung galaxy s deals. it looks like a phone with good if not better specs on paper, better camera on paper, better screen, front facing camera, noise cancellation mic, swype keyboard preinstalled, 16gb memory plus 32gb microsd extra memory possible, ? better 3d performance in view of better graphics processor etc. doesnt have htc sense or in some respects not as refined as the desire but beats the desire in other respects. i have 2 desire phones myself, but if i was buying now, i certainly would have a look at the samsung galaxy s before deciding. there are a few reviews comparing the two online. the back cover of the samsung galaxy s looks tacky though.

the camera aspect of a phone isnt really important to me as in any pictures i take using it i wouldnt be scrutinisng them, if i was wanting to take a picture of something wanted to keep then id use amy digital camera for it

Hence my leading statement "I'm surprised there don't seem to be any really good deals any more.". I suppose not that surprising that my entire upfront and running costs of entire contract is actually less than the sim free retail cost of the phone. Especially with the unlimited texts and internet.

quick questiion how can yiur cost be 360 over 24 months and 240 over 12 monhts surely ut would be 10x12+160= 240 for 12 months and double that for 24 months which is 480 after minusing quidco

I can't find anything much that's reasonable. O2 Retentions would only offer me £35/pm for 24 months with just 300 minutes and £40 on top for the phone, which is pretty awful. The Orange and t-mobile shops I went into weren't remotely interested in budging from the standard shop prices.

I tried emailing Vodafone to see if there was anything they had, but had no reply.
