If you cancel from the link in your email notifying you that the outbound flight is cancelled, rather than the website, you should be able to cancel or reroute any flights booked on the same booking reference.
My son managed to do this last night without a problem, whereas trying to do it from the website failed.

Got the email earlier today tried the link but still the same, it seems to take you throught to the same page.

Ryanair are being very sneaky here i think by saying they will rebook your flights "free of charge"
They normally charge £25 for flight changes online or £55 over the phone ,my guess is they have waived that fee but made you pay the difference in the flight costs
    Have a nice day :)

And to add insult to injury I've just been cut off from customer services after another 48 minutes on hold with the message "sorry - our offices are now closed"... Aaaggghhhhh.....

So that call cost you £4.80?! What sort of airline is it that only had a premium rate number for customers to call and no email address? By the way, how much is the 10p-a-minute number when called from a mobile phone? It seems that even when all flights are cancelled, Ryanair still make money.

I've changed outbound flights a couple of times now (keeps on going back a day) without extra charges.

Took some time to move the Sunday to Monday, think that was probably due to the number they were flagging as cancelled after the 6pm Friday announcement (got the no-can-do "after departure date" up to around 10pm Friday night).

When I selected an alternative flight, it showed the flight price, but "free change" (or something similar) in light blue against the price. After selecting this, the next page showed the original prices and amount paid with £0.00 in large type as the amount "to pay".
  • FYI

Ryanair has stopped flying to Granada as from 1st May.

Not sure what this will mean if volcano issue prevents you flying on a booked Granada until then?
  • Hi,

I'm currently stuck in Finland after they cancelled my return flight back to London. I am Finnish although I live and study in London. First few nights we stayed with friends but now we had to stay in a hotel. We were due back Sun 18.4 and our new booked flight is not until next sunday.

I've been trying to figure out whether Ryanair has to pay for our hotel or not.. Clearly the regulations say yes butr there is one sentence that says 'exept in case of whether distruption' or something.. I cant take the risk of paying the hotel and then not getting compensation. I've read few articles that people have taken legal actions against Ryanair and lost in similar cases..

It's hard to find any info because the Finnish are only trying to get other finns back to Finland but no one knows what happens to Finns who live somewhere else and are stuck here..

People in this forum are saying different things about the compensations so I really don't know the right from wrong.. AND on top of that they dont even know in Ryanair's finnish phone what to do.

Take a scan / photo of your receipts before posting them off too, in case they get lost. I think you are entitled to reimbursement, but good luck getting anything out of Ryanair!

I've got a friend who's stuck in Lanzarote - he flew there with Ryanair.

They have refused to help him at all and he doesn't have a credit card. Insurance are no use either.

Any other suggestions as to what he can do?

Ryanair have announced they won't be paying out for expenses (meals, accomodation) for this event.
