Ryanair Volcanic Dust Rip Off

I was looking at re-booking my weekend trip for 2 people from Kerry to Luton via the Ryanair site, but i was being asked to pay over €100 on top of the €80 already paid. so i checked out how much it would cost to book return flights on the same dates but not through the re-booking facility - and guess what? it was €20 for 2 people. I reckon that when people are directed to the free re-booking option the flight options they are given are very limited, and they are not being offered any of the special deals that are available when booking through the main page of the website. So check it out before you book.0

They should let you rebook for free. If you continue past the initial place it shows you €100, does the charge go away? cause it really definitely should!!!0 -
A group discussion on whether they wanted to go, if they could get a rescheduled flight, given the risk of not getting back on time and the fact that there is an opportunity to cancel NOW which could disappear if the ryanair decide that they are able to fly - has resulted in them deciding to cancel. Managed to claim a refund for the outgoing (cancelled) and the inbound (still available) flight from ryanair easily on the website.
Thanks for all the advice.
Probably the best option given the circumstances! Good work on getting everything sorted out.0 -

The pilot kept us all updated about what was happening and after an hour the flight had to be cancelled and we returned to the terminal. We were advised on the aircraft how to re-book.
I have since re-booked my flight and the return on the internet for free by following their instructions.
I'm very happy with the way I was treated, it was not in any way their fault
and there is nothing more that they or any other airline could have done could have done and when you think I paid only about a fiver!
This is the first Ryanair cancellation I have ever had in hundreds of flights with them and I look forward to flying with them next week (ash cloud permitting).
Bob was your return flight also cancelled ? I have flight booked for outward 18/04 return 22/04, when i try to rebook through the change flights section i only get the option of rebooking the outward. It comes up free but then tells me i can't book it because it's after the departure date.

it is a blatant rip, you still pay but they dont have to run the service. fair enough there are some admin costs involved for them in the cancellation of flights but to keep the whole fare is just legalised theft.0

If you cancel from the link in your email notifying you that the outbound flight is cancelled, rather than the website, you should be able to cancel or reroute any flights booked on the same booking reference.
My son managed to do this last night without a problem, whereas trying to do it from the website failed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Like many others I've spent a good few hours on hold to Ryanair customer services over the last few days without ever actually getting to speak to anyone. - I only ever get as far as being told calls cost 10p/minute and the estimated hold time is 7 minutes (which it never is), and normally end up getting disconnected after half an hour or so..
I had 4 flights booked to come home from Murcia to Bournemouth on Thursday 15th, and having been told the flight was cancelled followed the website link to change these online "free of charge"- I've been able to move them to the evening of Monday 19th (if it takes off..), but the only way I could confirm the booking change was by paying an extra £189.36 on top of what I've already paid. Hardly what I'd call free of charge - I really hope that Ryanair will refund this but am not holding my breath..
Should I be able to claim this back from Ryanair?0 -

Should I be able to claim this back from Ryanair?
And to add insult to injury I've just been cut off from customer services after another 48 minutes on hold with the message "sorry - our offices are now closed"... Aaaggghhhhh.....0
