Bride2be24...have you had any chance to get anywhere with your venue? I assume you meant you were actually having some photos taken in the hall itself, which is where the other wedding is? How much time is there for your photos? Is there any chance of you having the hall photos done before they set it out for the other wedding? Just trying to clutch at some straws here as this must be so horrible for you (((hugs)))

Thanks ellay864. I have spoken to our wedding coordinator via email today and basically told her i wasnt happy and explained that we was told there would be no other wedding on our day. She basically just said try not to let it worry us as we will still be able to make use of the hall for our photos. The other wedding party was a late booking (feb this year) which is not the point as we was told different. Apparently there wedding isnt until 5.00pm so guests will be arriving for 4.00pm. Our photos end at 3.30pm so we will still be able to use the hall if needed - but its not the point. Its our day, we booked 1st and its made me not just upset but angry!! I said to OH that ill be looking at our contract but he said not to bother as it will cause a big stir and will put a downer on our day if ya like so really dont know what to do????

I'd deffo check the contract and if there is anything written there you could definitely ask for some kind of partial refund. But do it 'now', don't let it hang on until your day - get it done and then move on and focus on the really important stuff. And if it's any consolation by the time I was done with my ceremony and photos at my first wedding I was in such a daze (in a good way!) that I don't think I'd have noticed if a gang of oompah-loompahs on stilts had wandered in and out of my venue. Trust me, if you go and get your photos done before any of the other guests have arrived it won't spoil your day itself. What's spoilt NOW is your image of the perfect day...and that's perfectly understandable. I'm just trying to say that it won't spoil your actual day :)

I think his advice is good, the more you work yourself about it, the more it will upset you. Although I would look at the contract incase they have gone against it. But if they've covered themselves, then it's just a case of trying to look at the positives, like the timings they've highlighted.

I totally sympathise though, exclusivity is improtant to me too.

    My new Bridezilla moment:
My OH's mum has bought an outfit, it is black and lime green. Our colour scheme is purple. She has bought another outfit for a wedding in September. It is purple. If she wears the lime green outfit she will be the only member of the wedding party not in purple/lilac one way or another. We have had a gentle word 'are you sure you want to wear the lime green?' but she is set on it. It is a very nice outfit. But she is going to clash!!! Ah well, worse things happen at sea, I guess :p

We finally got around to finding a suitable venue we wanted to book, provisionally booked the date and were then sent an email the day after saying there'd been a mix up and whilst they'd been confirming with us via email one of the girls had been taking a deposit for that day. It's all sorted now and we've gone for another date, but I couldn't believe how Bridezilla stroppy I was for about 24 hours! Even tho we'd not booked anything else, not signed a contract and only told about 5 people it was still 'OUR DATE!' in my head. Calmed down the following day and realised what an idiot I was being!
Dear me, weddings do funny things to people don't they?

I'm having a bridezilla strop today.

BM3 (who wasn't going to be able to do it, but now can) is much smaller than previously fired bridesmaid - now I can't find the dress or shrug in the right size. I don't want to change the dresses - I love them and they look gorgeous on the other two BMs.

If your new bridesmaid is smaller (and if you already have the dress but in a bigger size) could you not just get it altered to fit?
