Not really, we all get on well... she's just a flirty drunk so she's been warned to be on her best behaviour! She's only coming to the evening do and to be honest, the main reason she's been invited is so there's someone to take their DD home! Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

I burnt myself yesterday on my hair straighteners. Got really annoyed/ upset because its on the finger right next to my ring finger. It's not a little burn either, its about 2 inches long and does not look pretty. The wedding is 2 1/2 months away and I was going in a big strop that it will be in my wedding photos when showing off my new ring. How dare it be burnt so close to the wedding, and no seems to understand why i'm so gutted.
Lots of bio oil leading up to the wedding I thinkenjoy every day, you dont know how long youve got!:o0 -

Could be worse - my mat's getting married in 3 months & has broken her ring finger.
Docs don't think the swelling will have gone down by the wedding!0 -

Wow, thats a bit harsh isn't it? Is this thread not about being a bridzilla? isn't this the whole point?
I feel your pain OP, having a nasty burn right next to the finger that everyone is gonig to look at/photograph is a big deal! I'd be the same to be honest
:kisses2::smileyhea:love: 1st June 2012 @ 1pm I married the man of my dreams!!!0 -

Yeah I agree it does seem very harsh and unnecessary. The entire point of the thread is to vent about things that are important to us but may seem trivial to non-brides. No need to be nasty though.
If I was in the same situation I may be a little upset too!0 -
I was bridesmaid for my best friend 3 years ago, about 6 weeks before the wedding, we were out shopping and I shut the car boot on her hand and dislocated two of her fingers, including her ring finger! Thankfully the swelling had gone down by the time of the wedding, but there was some jokes about it in the best mans speech!0

I don't like asking parents for help, I would prefer to do it on my own and research by myself. If there is anything I am really stuck with then I will ask but as a last resort. Whereas my OH asks his Mum everything so she feels like we won't be able to cope with the planning. She doesn't trust us to plan a good wedding and has even said that without her input she will be embarrassed to have her family seeing it as we don't know what we are doing.
Every decision we make has to go through her first and I hate that. (She is paying for half the wedding so I have to put up with it)
Oh no Olokia! How incredibly rude of her!!
Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

If he's like this about everything, you're going to have put your foot down hard otherwise everything you try to do in your married life will be run past your MIL before he agrees to it!0 -
Here's hoping that works :-)
If it does, sorry for the poor quality. I couldn't hang the dress properly because it would have meant the cat and dog could get close to it and I don't want my clawy little kitty cat anywhere near it lol
That piece of fabric that's draped over the front actually drapes all the way around the dress and clips onto my left hip. The bonus to the top is that I have a tattoo on my boob and I wanted a dress that would cover it, this one does that. It makes me look taller, skinnier and clings to my curves like it was originally made for me lol.
I'm glad you have all had a good giggle about the chicken fillets, that was the intention lol. I was scared stiff when I decided to try a dress on but after all that, the sales assistants were still so lovely and cracking jokes with me that there was just no need to be nervous at all. If that helps other bride-to-be's pluck up the courage to go shopping then my work here is done :-)
bride2be2012, if I showed you a face picture of me you wouldn't believe how much dentistry I've had over the past 2 years. I'm still scared to death of the dentist and bad things usually happen when I go but I think my groom deserves pictures of happy bride! All of my front teeth are false and the bonus to that is I will no longer have to hide my smile from the camera on the day. Having my mouth remodelled was painful, scary, stressful and expensive, but I swear it was worth every drop of blood, sweat and tears!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
screamer - what an utterly lovely dress!
Was it very expensive to get your teeth done?
