I am a Bridezilla and my confession is....

I feel like a proper selfish cow about it all
One more bridezilla moment from me, if you lovely ladies will allow me such:
It is MY wedding, not OURS. My OH has not dreamed about this day since he was a little girl (or if he has there's a fairly serious conversation we need to have :rotfl:) and whilst I will run ideas past him, we are both more than comfortable with the fact that this is a purely functional act and any opinion he expresses will not be taken into account, as the likelihood is I've already arranged whatever it is I'm [STRIKE]telling[/STRIKE] asking him about :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
That definitely goes for me too!!!!!!!I didn't dream about it before the engagement tbh, but now I am in full wedding mode, I'm so excited!
Don't feel selfish about your sister hon, you're entitled to feel put out xx
johannalf88 - could your OH mention it as if it's already booked? e.g. 'Oh, by the way, our honeymoon is booked for X dates, hope that's OK'?7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Jo - I'm not the wife of a budding Law trainnee, and I know your sittuation.
I know how tough it was trying to get the TC, so then starting & asking for time of seems tricky as you don't want to rock the boat. But hopefully your OH can just have a frank chat with the supervisor & come up with something.0 -
It's a big city firm, so he has to do different seats, so it will be in his 2nd seat. I think I will just have to patient, an keep my fingers crossed. If OH asks about it, it will look like he is more interested in the time off.
I have just informed him that as soon as the topic of A/L comes up to mention it!
Em- I would rather not say on here, OH is really fussy about privacy! But do you know how the other trainees in the city were allowed to book leave? I would assume they were similar.
Wanchai- it's not that they wouldn't allow it, they would, but if they are not happy about it we can't take the risk, he has spent 5 years uni-ing (that should so be a word!!), and now basically has a 2 year job interview! Just not worth messing up!:T0 -
Jo, I think if he was to mention it as if it was booked already they would need to honour it, and if its only a week I wouldnt think they would have a problem (hopefully!) I've worked with a few new starts in my job who have had pre- booked holidays and they've been honoured. But you're right, if your OH has worked so hard for it, its not worth jeopardising.
I hope it works out for you!

Yeah, 3 seats is standard.
My OH let his company know about the wedding ASAP & they were completely understanding!
They're not going to think he's more interested in hols that the TC, especially in this climate with it being so hard to get one in the first place.0 -
They work at firly large firms and actually found it relatively easy. No problems with it; found out the standard process for the firm when they started and then just asked for it type thing. I think with the large firms they have so many employees one doesn't make a huge difference if you see what I mean. I chose to work for a small firm (as I didn't fancy the massively long hours and competativeness of city firms lol) and I probably find it harder to get time off as we have people who work term time only and things like that. I would say don't book it yet tbh. Give him a couple of weeks to start and check there are no exisiting major things happening when you hope to be off. It will be his work that makes them want to keep him after qualification; not if he booked his honeymoon quickly after starting. He has two years to impress them (which I am sure he will)0

Thanks Em! That's what I want to hear!:T0

Professional Skills Course; you have to complete it during your tc to be admitted.
Haha that's true but I do feel guilty about it if that helps/counts??0
