  • Thanks White_Sapphire, just a few kind words really do make me feel better.
I feel so sorry for you....you have a year to go and this should be a joyous time for you. You sound very considerate. However, I think to save more pain and upset in the longer term you need to sit down with your mum and a real heart to heart, tears and everything...anger shown if need be. Tell her she is making you very unhappy and that this can't go on. She will cause problems with you and your OH and you risk upsetting your mother in law who has done nothing wrong. Ask her if there is one thing in particular that she would like to be involved in planning and then restrict her to that.

I think she has had a bit of a tantrum and needs controlled like a child does. Maybe she doesn't know what the boundaries are. Everyone knows that children are happier with boundaries and perhaps you need to take over the role of adult here.

    I hope that helps

Thanks Spanishmagpies, did have a sit down and her only reply was she had a headache and didn't want to talk anymore :(
But I hope something I said might have stuck because she is actually trying to be more involved and is less angry about things instead of doing nothing and complaining she's not involved.

I keep trying to focus on the fact the wedding isn't about the family drama and difficulties but instead it's about marrying someone who is wonderful, supports me, keeps me sane in this madness and whom I love very much, and I'd advise anyone with similar problems with family/bridesmaids/suppliers to do the same!

I am a bridezilla - as I am forced to be at work (writing up boring commitee reports) when I should be sorting and sending out my Save the Dates. So am snapping at people telling them I should be at home sorting wedding stuff!!:rotfl:

Told OH off that housework, and cooking for him and the kids were also getting in the way... he didn't share my view. :rotfl:

I feel like this as well today! I just want to take a week off work to go dress shopping lol. :rotfl:

Can I be a bridezilla after the wedding too? It's really petty and selfish, but I got married almost 3 months ago, and my best friend is getting married next year. We're off dress shopping at the weekend for her, and although I'm really happy for her, I'm a teensy bit jealous that I won't get to do it again! Argh! I know it's silly but I can't talk to hubby about it as he'd think I'm mad! In fact he said the other day 'Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad all that madness is over and we don't have to do it again!' But I wanna!!!!! :)
Married my wonderful husband 31st July 2011 :j
    Baby boy born April 2013 - and 2 became 3! :)
    Baby number 2 due May 2016 - 3 will become 4! :)

I have turned into a bridezilla as a result of this forum! After reading the "review your wedding day" thread and reading about the waitress that spilled red wine, i decided that i would now only supply white wine for the tables. My view on that was my wedding, my money, my drink choices. My mum then told me that was silly as people could obviously buy their own coloured liquids at the bar and said "so what will you do... ban all non-clear liquids haha?"

Yes. That is now my plan. Bet you wish you hadn't sarcastically said that now! Mwahahaha.

As the bride who had the red wine spilt on her, i say go for it! i wish i had! :D

im a bridezilla andmy confession is that i don't want anyone else staying at the hotel the night before my wedding apart from my parents and the bridesmaids....

one of my friends was asking to stay yesterday and I've tried not to say an outright no as one of my bridesmaids said i was being a bridezilla so I've sort of suggested other places.

thing is she keeps saying that i wouldn't even notice they will be there but the hotel is in the middle of nowhere so there is only there to eat, bar and there is is spa with a pool and hot tub so clearly we will bump into each other.

maybe i am being selfish but i need to have a day of pampering and a chill out as I'm nervous and emotional.

    anyone else had this problem??

I don't want my sister to be MOH ( i was at hers) because she is totally useless at organising things and doesn't make any effort to come and see me and go BM dress shopping or ring me up for a chat or even reply to texts or emails. I'm always doing all the running. I didn't even ask her to be MOH she just told me she was, end of.
:T Looking forward to the future :T
