Need a rant... damn in-laws are the bane of my existence! History of horrible comments from the in-laws directed towards me, h2b and my family, hoped that things had recently started to thaw. No such luck.
We visited them the other night and told them that i had bought my wedding dress. Silence. As I get a bit uncomfortable with these situations, i tend to fill the silence so i babbled a bit about how in typical me fashion, it was over my budget so i would be living off of toast and beans until the wedding...
MIL2B - "Oh yeah... because you'll need to lose weight".
ME: "Err... no. I was making a joke about not being able to afford to eat".
MIL2B - "Yeah, but you'll still want to lose weight."
ME: "Err... no."
*AWKWARD*
I so wanted to reply with "no actually, i am not planning on losing weight as i am happy with being a size 10-12, my dress fits me like a glove, i am healthy and happy with my weight unlike you so stop putting your childish insecurities onto me, start dressing and acting your age, you interfering old bint". And breathe.
That is shocking!!!!!!! How dare she make such remarks. I hope they live a long way away and won't be visiting much after you're married! You should pity her tbh, and be glad that you are so well adjusted and confident.abi-em-mum83 wrote: »Omg how rude! Haha loving some of the comeback ideas! I have just started ignoring the snide comments, they say far more about her than me anyway. Funnily enough though, i was totally tempted to stuff my face in front of her and then not behind her back. How childish is that?!
They only live 20 minutes away but H2B doesn't like visiting them because of how rude and mean they can be to both of us. I am lucky that he is aware of how nasty they can be and sticks up for me. It would be more upsetting if it was causing arguments!0 -
Bless you Kk22. What a good job your OH is supportive. Just carry on ignoring her. Beauty isn't about size, it is about how you feel inside and with your confidence I reckon you will make a rather beautiful bride.

I'm not engaged or planning to be any time soon but I have planned most of my wedding. Is that bad?!
One thing I will not have at my wedding is anyone wearing black or white. White is for the bride, aka ME, black is for funerals and has no place in my day! Since I was about 14 I've been adamant that anyone who turns up to my wedding in full black or white will get turned away.

I am getting married in a week and a day (yikes!) and had a Bridezilla moment last night... Took my 3 BM's for their final dress fitting last night and bit my tongue and kept my calm when they were a bit picky. Got home at 9pm, just as my OH was leaving for work and he had put my dinner in the oven. I used a sodding tea-towel to get it out instead of the oven glove and I burnt my finger on the rack.
OMG I couldn't stop crying! It didn't really hurt that much but I was more worried about how my hands would look in the photos next week with a great big blister on it! Literally, I was inconsolable.
I've been putting Savlon on it all day...0
