My family are driving me mad! We are only having a small wedding, around 20 guests and when we first announced that we were finally getting married I told my nan that it would only be small (so that she wouldn't go off telling the whole family who I would then have to explain weren't invited). I made it clear later that obviously she and my grandad were invited as my dad said they were a bit confused as to if they were invited or not. All was fine, they were looking into flights and hotel etc ... or so I thought. My nan has now said to my dad that my grandad has said he isn't coming 'as he wasn't originally invited and he doesn't want to go somewhere he isn't wanted' gggrrrrr. It would be as bad if it weren't for the fact my Auntie expressly said she didn't want anyone at her wedding but they went ahead and attended anyway as they didn't want to miss it; clearly he is happy to miss my wedding though :(
  • Im a bridezilla because on Saturday I attended a wedding fayre and without discussing with my h2b went ahead and booked a videographer, costing £999!!!!!!! Thought he was going to kill me but he knew how much I wanted one, and thats a good deal (over £400 off and includes heaps of extras like blu ray copies, video booth, marryoke and is from brides prep to 6th dance approx!)!!
Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!

I am a bridezilla and my confession is:

Although I’m not getting married until July 2013 I am super organised.

I have my dress, shoes, tiara, wedding ring plus more stuff. The venue, reception and cars are booked and after Christmas I will be booking the photographer and flowers. I have a spreadsheet that does everything I need from budgeting to planning.

My H2B sometimes super annoys me because he mocks me for being so organised and the fact that I want everything booked and deposits paid yesterday.

Oh and apparently I am not allowed to have the burgundy rose corsages I wanted because it may clash with my mums, nanas and mother in laws outfits, is it really that hard for them to pick something that would go with burgundy?

and lastly, we have to buy the mother in laws outfit, !!!!!! is that about, I'm not buying my mums outfit so why should we buy hers, she has 21 months to save for the damn thing!

Rant over, I feel so much better

    My Bridezilla moments:
MiL isn't wearing a dress because its 'not real' (i.e. not in church - which we cant do anyway cos OH's 2nd marriage and family is catholic - i suggested CoE but got met with Tssssssssssssssssssssss and eye rolling)

She has bought very casual clothes which will not make her stand out as MOG from a local store which all her family use hence probably going to end up in the same or similar.

I asked her to be part of the ceremony and she is yet to answer me. All she has to do is light a candle.

FiL is already whingeing (sp?) about wearing a suit... i have told him over ten times that he can take his cravat and jacket off after the ceremony but i still get the whingeing...

OH has said he will have a word but i told him no as i DO NOT want them to get upset as i know they will take it to heart.

Its only been the last two months or so that i have felt part of the family and they have become chatty and i do not want to ruin that... BTW, its been 10 months since we got engaged and these are pretty much the first time they have engaged at all in the wedding... LOL, families...
:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D

I really, really wanted a photo booth at our wedding. So much so that I was going to work part time in a pub to pay for it. OH says no, not spending £500 (got a good deal!) on a photo booth. Ok I said, I will compromise - we have 2 students doing something along the same lines for free for their portfolios.

Then HE goes and books a bl00dy roulette and blackjack table for the evening!!

Not sure that I want everyone playing on a roulette table when they should be spending time with me (and OH).

GGGRRRRRR He WILL pay for this! Trying to think of something I can now have that will make it up to me!

BLUis, I can totally understand why you're cross! We had a (non-professional) photobooth in the evening, loved it!!

And as for the gambling, normally music is so loud in the evenings in weddings from the disco, it's unlikely you'll miss out on much conversation, you might even chat more at the roulette!

It'll be a marvellous day I'm sure, and your hubby will owe you one! :D

I'm getting annoyed at how laid back my OH is and I think I need to be stressed so I'm making myself stressed over stuff that doesn't even matter or doesn't matter yet!

I don't think being so stressed at work helps and the fact that OH tried to be helpful and buy the food shopping, but instead of buying washing powder and things for lunches, he bought 12 jars of curry sauce and 16 cartons of fruit juice... His defence was "well I know you like juice."

I can honestly say (now I'm less stressed) bless him, but when I found out, I was not impressed!

    Oh well, another curry tomorrow...
Planned our wedding, still planning lessons

    Hi all,

I've had a few minor bridezilla moments but as the wedding is getting nearer (3 weeks tomorrow), I've had a major one. Out of the 120 people invited in the evening (we over-invited by 20 incase some didn't come), 23 are coming, 21 aren't coming (and probably more to boot) and 76 haven't even bothered to reply!!! The rsvp date is tomorrow, I know I should've put an earlier date but even putting my phone number and address on the invite hasn't made anyone reply.

The bus I was hiring has been changed from a 49 (the biggest but cheapest I could get) to a 33 seater already and I'm changing it to a 24 seater on Monday. Maybe will only need a taxi at this rate.

Also, my mum met one of my cousins who made out she was coming but then sent a regret - all because no doubt, her precious son and daughter weren't invited - as were other second cousins. Out of the 60 I had to invite, 30 were family, what do they think I had no-one else to invite. Wish we had ran away as planned. And breathe......

I hate you, I have talked to ACAS about you and I am seriously thinking about bashing your head in with your new printer.
