I will cry if someone does not come who i invite! i expect all my guests to be able to come!
I disagree with everyone who doesnt agree in MY way.
Im worrying about sending my save the dates out! i want the out NOW but still have 20 months left!
Oh dear hun, you have got it bad!I think we all feel like that from time to time - I sometimes find myself deciding things in my head (nothing major, just decorative stuff) and almost being afraid to ask H2B his opinion just in case he ruins my 'vision'!
Just have to keep saying to myself that it's his wedding as well..... I don't even ask other people what they think, unless it's something one of us is genuinely unsure about and needs advice on - we're having it our way!

Oh, it annoys me so much when people are so thoughtless!
I nearly lost my temper with a couple of friends who basically questioned why I was getting married given that it was so expensive, did I own my own home ie why am I wasting money on something as frivolous as a wedding when I should be saving up for a deposit, marriage is nothing more than a piece of paper etc etc
1. Who the hell gave YOU the right to dictate how I spend my money?
2. I have the common courtesy to not force my belief in marriage on others, so why is it so difficult for you to shut the heck up about your (perfectly valid) belief that marriage is pointless?
3. Mine and my H2B's choices are our own and are nothing to do with you, so just :eek::eek::eek: off!!!!!
4. Why did I not have the courage to actually say the above at the time???

I had a friend who I was talking to pre-wedding about our small budget saying I'd love masses of roses but couldn't afford it. Before I went on to say my replacement she said "there are lovely alternatives, but not carnations... Never carnations - they're funeral flowers!"
"Erm, that's actually what I'm having."
:rotfl:
Bless her, everyone has their own personal musts and musts nots so I really didn't mind... I thought it was hilarious!!0 -

They're not close friends, fortunately! What surprised me about it is that one of them used to be a wedding florist, and had previously offered to do my flowers! Made me think "well, what were you secretly thinking about all those brides who were paying your salary?" It was weird because they've known about my engagement for a year and never said anything, but suddenly seemed to decide to put me on trial for the crime of planning a wedding! :huh:Ha! I had a girl at work tell me that the white wedding dress tradition is a misogynistic throwback as it symbolises virginity (this is actually bullocks, as the white dress fashion started with Queen Victoria who wore white fabric as it was less expensive and showed she was not frivolous) and that taking a man's surname is anti-feminist (for me, feminism is about the freedom to *choose* about things like that, thanks). Stupid cow
YES. THIS. That is what it means to me too!
That girl at work sounds delightful!! :rotfl: My sister does not want to take her H2B's name, but I will take mine. Neither of us has questioned the other's decision as it's our choice - I fail to understand how people seem unable to comprehend that!! It's simples, surely?? :wall:Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012
