Just think of it as a practice run! U can note the things that didn't work etc, and do something about it. Service was slow, wasn't enough bar tenders?... Have a word with the venue and volia!

Well, I wanted to have birdcages and vintage brooches, and dried lavender, and strings of pearls... and she had all of those things.

then her other cousin (sister to first one, still following?) who married last month, got engaged in Summer 2010 and invites are sent out with the exact same colour scheme as my bridesmaid. told her to use it as a trial run for the venue, seeing what works and what needs discussed with the wedding co-ordinator (slow bar service, dodgy lights, microphone for band), and as for the colour scheme she can check if she wants that much red in her wedding. she's now veering towards orange instead of red.

there was a mini tantrum but it was confined to my house

she gets to test run her venue and has refined her colour scheme - it could be worse. there will only be an overlap of 20 guests seeing all three weddings and at least it is all on the same part of the family.

Maybe substitute lanterns? Or chinese paper lanterns? I saw a really cool pic of a wedding where they had flower balls as decorations - think they would be quite easy to do yourself if you could get artificial flowers.
