I'm a bridezilla cos I can't think about my wedding yet (a week tomorrow) cos I have too much work to complete before Wednesday to even have 2 seconds to talk about hair etc with girls at work. One asked me today what I was doing with my hair (it's short) and I replied "well, I was thinking about brushing it". I would LOVE to do wedding talk, but I take my job seriously and I have NO TIME! my fake tan is booked for 9am next Wednesday so I'm going to have to do my last day at work looking like an oompa loompa cos that was literally the only time I have available. How has time speeded up so much?!? It doesn't help that summer holidays is our silly season at work, but loads of people away so my workload has quadrupled and next week I will be the only senior team member in - not a relaxing run up to wedding and now I'm ranting so I need to breathe right now or I will pass out thank you very much for listening I'll go away now and attempt to sleep while making lists in my head and not breathing or sleeping and kids will be up 6am help me help me help me....

would you like some kalms or rescue remedy?

Have rescue remedy, it's sort of helping and I have some guided meditations on my iPhone which are fab to drift off to. It's just with stupid workload stuff isn't getting done! Finally got the table plan to the hotel today after they'd moved from "relaxed encouragement" to "slightly peeved" and were threatening to move to "definitely annoyed" if I didn't get my finger out. Have to work tomorrow which is normally day off, but stuff just isn't being issued to Contractors and nobody gives a rat's !!! that I'm getting married in a week, the work has to be done and cos of holidays there is no one else qualified to sign stuff off in the office. I have to find 3 highchairs as the hotel don't have enough and I have to prise money for the rooms out of guests (we have exclusive use for the hotel so guests have to pay us not the hotel and I'm rubbish at asking for money)

I just want to be married.

  • I will not invite strangers to our wedding, I WILL NOT invite strangers to our wedding, I WILL NOT INVITE STRANGERS TO [STRIKE]MY[/STRIKE] OUR WEDDING!!!

We are inviting an old family friend (mother and son) to our wedding. son has a girlfriend who I have never met and as no-one is getting a plus one he isn't getting one either. my mum has been on the phone saying oh well, he is away with her folks so he needs a plus one - err no, no-one gets a plus one. we are going for family wedding (I have a large family) with a few close friends, not a few close friends and some randoms.

Invites are going out early next year with names on them. If the son wants to talk to me about this once the invites are out then fine, I will listen and may change my mind if it would stop him coming. But at the moment it is my mum speaking to his mum and I'm not convinced any of this is coming from the son. and this week was going so well....

  • Oh. My. God!

I've just looked at the 2012 bridal threads and realised that I have been buying/planning as or even more obsessively on the 2013 thread than the brides who are getting married a YEAR earlier than me!! :o

Rab - lol that isn't bridezillary... if you're anything like me it's being a control freak! I've planned nearly everything and I have just under a year to go because I'm a total control freak and I like to know what is going to happen! Nothing wrong with it I say! :)
  • Hi don't think this is really bridezilla-ish but needed a rant. So last night went out with my dad and his partner to meet her daughter. All was going well until dad and the witch decided to tell me that I won't fit into a wedding dress and need to lose weight.

A few points- I'm a 14/16 not exactly the size of an elephant. We haven't set a date but are think in 2 years so not as if we are rushed and I don't have a dress yet. On top of that she (and her daughter come to that) are not exactly model size so I'm not sure where dad and his oh get off judging me.

I was quite impressed that I kept calm and just reminded them that wedding dresses come in more than one size.

And breathe- sorry just needed to get that off my chest.

Oh that is horrible! That is not a bridezilla rant at all! It is perfectly justified!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    That is horrible!
I LOVE the idea of those table names, brilliant ;)

I'm a bridezilla because when we began planning the wedding I was all for everyone wearing purple (our colour theme). However, my brothers gf has shown my sister the dress she wants and it is the same shade and length as the bridesmaids!!! She's just a little too close to be wearing the same colour I think, she will look like she is or worse is trying to be a bridesmaid!! When my sister said oooo maybe you could wear a paler shade, she showed her a cream dress! CREAM!!!!!!!!!

I'm that size and have the most gorgeous dress, it makes me look teeny and all down to a fantastic shop who know what dresses will suit your shape. Just off to pick it up for my wedding tomorrow (eeeek!). That is a horrible thing to say and I would be demanding an apology personally. You will look fab, so don't mind them.

Thats awful! Bad enough from your dads partner but thats not something your dad should say to his dfaughter!! The average woman in Britain is a size 16, and personally I think women look better some curves! Its not like 14/16 is plus size, and you'll fill out a wedding dress much nicer than some size 4 beanpole!
Now Im a size 24 and do need to lose weight! NOTHING looks good on me, and I dont want to be embarrassed and ashamed of my wedding photos. But my perfect size is a 14/16!!
Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!
