Nevermind selecting a few of us who claim to send in proof of income etc. The Tax Credits should request this off EVERYONE with no exception! If they moved the renewal from April to July then everyone would be in receipt of their P60 or their accounts if self employed. If they then asked us to request proof of child care expenses we could arrange this and know to request receipts when arranging child care. Finally if we had to renew via the post and not over the phone we would then be able to supply all this information needed to assess our claims - it would make much more sense!!!!!!!! Lets hope the Tories shake up this system!!!!!!!

Yeah id agree with that one same rule every year would make far more sense and a lot less hassle/paperwork.
As for the Tories shaking it up, I think they will but not in a way that will benefit anyone but themselves sadly

So has EVERYONE who renewed through specialist team
    A. Had previous award of over £8000
    B. Had thier award notice then been asked for proof income/childcare costs.

Or have some people who renewed had exactly the same experience as renewing through the normal channels?

Was there any discrepancies between the estimated amounts of childcare/ income and finalised amounts? Perhaps it a random thing?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I think even after receiving final award notice some people have still been asked to provide proof of income/costs. Hard to establish a pattern of who or why though seemingly
