Tell a friend/ family member just how good banking with Lloyds TSB is and you could both be £50 better off.
If they open a Classic, Plus, Premier, Added Value, Under 19 or Graduate current account and set up a regular credit of £500 or more per month within 2 months of opening the account, we'll pay £50 within 31 days into their new account once their first credit is received, to say welcome.
We'll then pay £50 into your account to say thank you.
Clear enough for you? You do not have to switch, or pay in your salary. Though you might want to for 4% if you credit £1000/month0 -
Did the application online yesterday, seems to be the same offer as Martin mentioned.
Have they stopped this now?0 -
Well done Martin! No fuss no bother with First Direct. When I said it was in THE Times they said it was on your web site as well. Forms on the way. Easy money Thanks again0

Yes, but you do have to set it up so that you pay in £500 a month, which is at least a bit of a faff. Also, it doesn't seem to say if there is a minimum period for this to happen for, ie if the credit stops within X months will they want the £50 back?
I rang up about the First Direct account and just said that I wanted to have it as a second account and the man said that was fine, so they're sending me the form out.DFW stats:

Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Online there is the question of whether you have to pay in your salary - they say no on the phone but it seems to be unclear. Plus the bit about 'pay in £100 and we'll give you £25' disappeared yesterday. Althought the £25 banner on the main page was still there.
Basically they are just flooded with applications.....we will all have to see!0 -
Rang this morning @ home. Asked what was different between paper advert and internet offer. From my understanding at the time there wasn't anything different. Asked for info to be sent out. Then thought that you can apply through GreasyPalm and get an extra £5.50 cashback.... By the time I got to work the £25 internet offer had gone. Rang them up, woman I talked to had obviously been dealing with ALOT of calls but didnt know the online offer had disappeared. I asked her if you could still apply online and she said there would be an option to put in the ref number. So, went through Greasypalm and applied online..... er I didnt see an option to put in the reference number. We'll see, haven't had even an automated reply to say my application as been received. Maybe I've screwed this up.... but then maybe I'll at least get the cashback!0

From an email received today:
"You can apply online for this account but will need to quote the reference CA154 for the online application to receive £25 and will need to have minimum of £100 credit balance within 3 months.
Please go to our website https://www.firstdirect.com to apply."0 -
I opened this account on 31st January following junk mail flyer (which I naturally checked up on with MSE advisers).
Paid in £100 on 31st January, received £25 "joining incentive" on 8th February, and 1p net interest on 17th February.
I will now be closing the account due the attitude of the staff in the Midland, who were concerned about "money laundering" because I paid £100 in cash!
I obviously look like a big time criminal.Just off the border of your waking mind, there lies another time ....0 -
If you all had the free version of the best browser in the land (Opera) then you will be getting the ads for First Direct offering £25 for opening an account for a couple of weeks now and they're still advertising it. In fact I'm looking at it right now and clicking on it takes you here. Free £25 when you open an account and deposit £100.sor_fes2 wrote:By the time I got to work the £25 internet offer had gone.0
