With lloyds? no
You have to pay in regular credits - cant remember the amount. But after the first goes in you get the £50, then you can stop. Salary of £1000 is needed for the 4% rate though....
If a friend with lloyds recommends you, then you both get £50. And then you can refer someone else yourself!
So......do both......
Now, if only first direct were a bit clearer
Does online work - or is it as martin says - only on the phoneline?? I'm confused0 -
It seems a bit naive of them to think "oh, the last offer was exploited by an internet site, so let's make the present one only work over the phone"!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

You seem to be right!0 -
I applied for an account and put in the £100 when it was first mentioned on this site months ago. Got the £25 payment after a month, then offered another £25 to take out a credit card which I did...Be careful you have to spend £1200 in a year or you have to pay £20 back to them....another month and I recieved the £25 credit card incentive.
Then before Christmas received some bumf saying that if i recommended a friend or relative that I would get £25 per person who opened an account! Got my partner and two friends to open accounts and just put in £100, they all got £25 and so did I.
I am now £125 up for an initial outlay of £100.
I am just in the process of cancelling the credit card and my partners account!0 -
Hemlock wrote:Hi,
I joined when Martin first spotted this last year. Not only did I take advantage of the £25, but they were offering a £500 free overdraft, which I promptly put into an e-savings account they opened for me together with the £25.
So I have just left it there earning a little bit off interest with their money. Thank you very much!
I think that offer is still available too.

I registered last time, and I think it took about 2 months to add the £25 to the account - I think I also put another £25 in and left it there cos they were paying interest on current accounts. BUT I got a letter this morning to say that the interest was being reduced to 0.1% (which is nothing).
So I shall be saying goodbye to First Direct very shortly.0 -
I just rang up and the first thing the bloke taking the call asked was "Did you get this information from the newspaper or the internet?". He then said someone had posted the info on the internet and that they were getting a bigger than expected response!
Anyway they are sending me a pack.0 -
Just called First Direct and spoke to a nice lady. She asked where I heard of First Direct, I recited Mr Lewis's article text "in the Times", she asked for a code and again referred to Martin's article. She said the account information would be posted to me shortly and if I lodge £100 they will credit the account with £25 after 28 days.
Not bad for three minutes work.0 -
Got the orange forms today, the lady as every1 refers her to that name was very nei and helpful. Im sure its the same person i speak to each time i call up. She also gave me a bit of tip about credit cards although i declined the offer. Signed for it, waiting for that £25 smackers.Olympic 2007 challenge Started 9 Jan 2007[strike]Aim Silver 2007.00[/strike] Aim Gold 3007.00 Achieved so far:782
