I just got direct line to quote £168 for fully comp, with my £100 through quidco I am very impressed. Nearest other quote was £289 through budget.

A total cost of £68 for car insurance in N.I. I can't believe it.

I got a quote of them there now online it was £1,135.05. The company that the car is currently insured with quoted almost £620 another company has quoted approximately £450 :j but I have to get hubby to check the insurance details as it his insurance policy.

I use J N Bailie (02890451288) and always ask for Mark.

Do your homework first though. Get onto confused.com, elephant, admiral, quinn direct etc. and put the figures in and see what values it comes out with ... remember to save those quotation references. I also use the following preferences which may not suit yourself ... I increase the amount of voluntary excess (I use £250-300) ... I also do not protect my no claims bonus (I have had one accident in nearly 30 years of motoring ... and even after that my insurance went down the next year).

Do NOT do as a friend of mine did and made up some low number because ultimately the conditions of the price match was to provide an offical comparative quote on letter headed stationery (he had to eat a lot of huimble pie that day).

They are opened Monday to Friday 9 - 1 and 2 - 5, I think that's what the answering machine said when I got hubby to telephone today. Admiral quoted £460 odd for hubbys insurance but when he telephoned his current insurance company to see what they would do it for they said, £435, almost £200 less than the letter they had sent out!! :money: :j

I have been telling people for years to NEVER accept a renewal quote ... it can always be beaten (usually by significant amounts). Good work!

Hubby phoned but Mark was busy so the person who answered asked if they could take a message so hubby asked them if they could get Mark to phone him back and he left his name and number. Mark phoned back a short time ago and said he could do the insurance for £410 and he listed all the things that the policy would include. Marks policy didn't include break down cover so hubby said to Mark that he would phone his own compnay back again to see if theirs did ashe wanted a like for like quote.

Hubby phoned his own company and they went through the details again and said that the car was down as being an automatic, don't know where they got that from because we never owned an automatic. However this time the quote they gave hubby was £385 which includes breakdown cover.

Originaly they quoted £618 now they are quoting £385, a saving of £233!! :j :money:

We have saved £382 for hubbys insurance, I am sure we can get the £3 out of some where. :rotfl:

Can somebody please give me some advice on the following please, I have just insured my car with budget, when I received the paperwork they had quoted me for 1000 miles per annum not 10000 that I had requested. When I telephoned them they said my quote would become more expensive (£5 per month more) due to it being 10000 miles per annum. They were going to listen to the telephone quote and as long as they heard me asking for 10000 they would reduce the payments back to the original quote. This as been going on since April and they still say they have not listened to the quote, they keep giving me promises to telephone me back and never do. I have been quoted incorrectly what would you do just go somewhere else or dig my heels in with budget?
