Can any give me some advice? I've been banned for six months my ban expire in april im looking for insurance but all the qoute im getting are extremely high does any one know any company that specilises in banned drivers that may offer me a good qoute...
All I can suggest is that you take a day of work and start phoning around ... you will probably need to do a lot of leg work on this one I am afraid. Try some of the broker agents .. I have always found Mark at J N Bailie to be very helpful.

You have to expect though that the insurance companies will (rightly or wrongly) get their arm in for the next few years.

Does anyone on this thread know if you can reduce your premium liability even further by using a company that acknowledges limited mileage or giving an undertaking not to drive between 10pm and 6am, or even both !!!????

This is a query for a neighbours son who is 20 and a student.

    little story that happened today

i drove mrs jersy to portadown so that she could pay for her insurance (hughes £450ish)

o+d had quoted her a renewal of 750ish

but hughes had just closed for lunch, so we dandered around portadown (duno why, theres nothing in it, wont be back in a hurry!)

    but anyway

her phone rang,o+d offered her 400 dead!

Just got my ins for this year. Still with Allianz, this year they came in at £291.84 for fully comp, £200 excess with my Dad and my OH on as well at no extra cost.

Have looked round but no one can beat this so far. I can also get RAC breakdown for £47 if I want as an extra on my policy.

    I'm a happy girl :D

Just renewed one of my cars .. apparently original quote was about £370 but broker I use (J N Bailie) got it down to just over £300 (with no/small excess) ... did some online checking, talked to broker and got it for £250 fully comprehensive (but with a high £300 excess).

The best quote I can get at 23 with two years no claims bonus is £600 on a Rover 200 with third party fire and theft cover and this is at Quinns, I still think its a bit too dear as I have never made any claims and I have no points and I've been driving for 6 years, anyone know of any places that might do a better deal possibly the one mentioned by Ivan Opinion.

I use J N Bailie (02890451288) and always ask for Mark.

Do your homework first though. Get onto confused.com, elephant, admiral, quinn direct etc. and put the figures in and see what values it comes out with ... remember to save those quotation references. I also use the following preferences which may not suit yourself ... I increase the amount of voluntary excess (I use £250-300) ... I also do not protect my no claims bonus (I have had one accident in nearly 30 years of motoring ... and even after that my insurance went down the next year).

Do NOT do as a friend of mine did and made up some low number because ultimately the conditions of the price match was to provide an offical comparative quote on letter headed stationery (he had to eat a lot of huimble pie that day).

Wife has been with Allianz for about 4 years, her new quote came in today and was £328.72, i got an online quote with the AA for £244. So she called Allianz up and said she wouldnt be with them next year as she can get it cheaper, the lady on the phone ummed and ahhed then said how about if we could do it for £230 as we didnt add any discounts on the other amount, so always worth calling them

I just got direct line to quote £168 for fully comp, with my £100 through quidco I am very impressed. Nearest other quote was £289 through budget.

A total cost of £68 for car insurance in N.I. I can't believe it.
