still with AXA after a renewal quote of £263.I couldn't get better last year, and was almost prepared to let it go ahead this time.
An Open and direct mailshot offered a £25 cheque if they couldn't beat a quote by at least that amount,so I gave them a go for the "why not?" They offered me £236.I said thanks, then went back to axa to request my no claims declaration. They then brought their renewal down to £220....back to O+D to say thanks but no thanks, and back to Axa to arrange payment.my postcode wasn't right on the renewal, and I mentioned this..."OK...the change in postcode makes Your premium now £203..!"Ipoints 5392
Pigsback Piggypoints 2250
Nectar points 1400

Wish I had your postcode Bjorn
Having spent the last 3 years with Quinn Direct, I switched to Endsleigh this year. ~ the same price as Quinns, but much nicer to deal with, and slightly better terms on their policy.
Also had a reasonable quote from Adrian Flux, but didn't seem very professional when I spoke to them. Peace of mind swung it for me.0 -
Well i got my new quote from kwik fit £234.70, used confused dot com and got it down to £137 (kwikfit was £170). I then went through topcashback dot com and got a cash back of £110 using TSB their quote was £167 fully comp which brings it down to £57 unreal.
Normally i would take up kwikfit as it is easier to stay with the same firm - never again. You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0 -
Got our quote in from Abbey at £365. After trying the different links posted here (Quinns was coming up best) had a good look at Abbey's again. Noticed they had put the value of the car (same car as last year) up by £1,000!!!!! Rang and mentioned this, insurance went down to £315. Asked about putting me on hubby's insurance and lo and behold the quote went down to £290. So sticking with Abbey this year again. Makes sense to read all the details - just in case.0

ive been ringing around, got a good quote with endsleigh..
got a 600 excess tho, not that im planningon having an accident, but for a little more they are reducing this to 300 for me
even at this it is still £950 which although half the price of last year, is still expensive
tried kwik fit there but they wouldnt quote me online. ill try tomorro, but considering that every other company i have tried, bar quinn, have not been under 1.5k, i dont think im gonna be able to beat this one!0 -
This thread has been invaluable to me for the last 2 years. So I thought I would share my findings.
Both years ERNE INSURANCE (number provided at top of thread) have offered me the cheapest quotes. I was a new driver the first year so obviously quotes were sky high. By getting quotes from all of the insurers on this thread I saved up to £1000! (Paid £1035 fully comp) When I was due for renewal once again I shopped around, but Erne came back again with the cheapest quote saving me up to £400! (Paid £600 fully comp)
I have had no problems with them. They quote based only on a £100 excess, you can add breakdown cover for an additional £10 and legal is included automatically in the quote. I would reccommend.0 -
that number for erne dont work for me, sends me through to some modem sound0

Looks like we might be about to start getting more reasonable car insurance prices in NI. Tesco have just announced that they are going to start offering car insurance here.
About time too. Looks like some of the local firms may need to buck up their ideas a bit.
Belfast Telegraph story here0
