Second that :) very well put

Yesterday my DF life was put to the test, when getting ready to go out with DS I noticed that my lovely and very pricy Louis V purse was broke :(:(:( The pin had fallen out of the purse bit and the back was gone.... Now I can be quite sentimental when i get going and I know its only a purse but it was bought in NY during an wedding anniv holidsay 5 yrs ago when money was no object. I have used it everyday since and its my ickle baby (v sad indeed). So in true DFW style I didnt hit the shops and by another v pricy (albeit not so pricy) purse.. no I went to the bargain store and got a very chavvy one for £6. Now all I have to do is save up to go to Edinburgh or Manchester and have my now very sad purse fixed ;)

Went shoe shopping with DD today (shes nearly 3) and oh my god  when did kids shoes get so expensive. I picked up a lovely pair from Start Rite, they were £38 and the very popular (not in the house!) Lilli Kelly were almost £50  When the lady came out with the shoes I had to secretly find their prices to make sure DD didnt get set on the ever so expensive ones. Thankfully she fell for some canvas ones with the Owl & !!!!!cat on at just £15. I think Im gonna need a job just to pay for shoes, esp when DS starts wearing them.

I know where your coming from I normally buy designer clothes hence the reason i am in the hole I am in. But today for the first time ever I bought a jacket from peacocks first time ever. I took it home put it on and you know what my 14yr old daughter said dad that looks good and very trendy. It cost £12 I would normally have paid about £70.

Thanks True and Ted im feeling a bit better now, DH came home from work and told him how low i was feeling so he gave me a big hug and told me all would be ok in end, he is a good sort and im very lucky to have him would not want to be doing this alone.

Took me a lot of courage to admit to him the extent of our debt when I had my LBM, although he did know we had dept (he spent it too) and were always skint he didnt really know how much, but I took the bull by the horns and told him everything, best thing I have done, we are in this together and his support is brilliant, I decided then I would not keep him in the dark about anything ever again, the old me would of probably bottled up my low feeling for days feels good to let it out!

Mikon you are bringing tears to my eyes, it is very true, they cant take our familys away from us and when it comes down to it that is all that is important and we should be very gratefull.

O arnt I soppy tonight. Think I'll open a nice bottle of wine and watch some good telly.

All off tomorrow so DH has said he will help to get house sorted and cleared of all this dust :rotfl: so I may be dust free soon, fingers crossed.

Once again thanks for the support.x

O and just so you know we had a wee chat about house and yes think we'll just hold on to it.

    Thanks all

Hi Albie, it's a pleasure! Prof Pat's letter has the 'write only' bit included...
I have 11 creditors and only one kept phoning despite my letter - Crap One, although when I then complained and mentioned the OFT they wrote saying they would put the calls on hold for a few weeks so a bit of a welcome result!.... they are back to daily calls which I no longer get wound up about - I just ignore them and if they ring my moby I answer it then put the phone down so they have to pay for the call.... They are SO over the top!

ps Albie, I'm on low payments to start with and expect them to go up by the end of the year too... every now and again I go through the 'What if?' etc about them saying No to it but worst case scenario they take you to court, you say you've had advice from PP and this is the budget they agreed and the judge tells you to carry on paying the same amount, exit the creditors with a red face and having lost more money taking you there in the 1st place! Try not to worry, says me the not so much a worry pot as I was 4 months ago!

    Have a fab weekend x
    Hi Ted,
That makes me feel a litle better re the calls, as I am quite anxious what is going to happen on that aspect. The thing that concerns me most if they call at work to be honest as my work would defo not be happy bunnies:eek::eek: Also its good to know others are on low start payments. But then again I did wonder the more you pay maybe they also get funny as you are paying close to the min contractual payments so why should they lower interest. I think from what I have read there seems to be no rhyme or reason what they do.
    Have a fab weekend too!

:jHurray all positive stuff tonight-Nat have you turbo charged our paddles hun?:j
Mikon - the praise of a 14 yr old is high praise indeed....and you are SO right about what matters! That's good ebaying!
Andy - so glad you are feeling happier and have decided about your house, send your DH this way when he's finished your house purleease!
Nat - I know children's shoes....soooooo expensive, DD school ones were £32, she seems to have funny shaped feet - well expensive shaped ones, the supermarket school shoes seem to just slop off her feet. DD saved BD and pocket money to buy her last pair of Lelli Kelly's even she realised they were way more than last time when she went in to ask how much she needed to save for a new pair....they are so much because of the Pound v Euro so they said!!!! So there'll be no more LK's in this house - though might buy the free gift off ebay! Sorry to hear about your purse love!
Ted:T:T:T Yay MiniMSEs very good DDs!:rotfl::rotfl:Next and RBS DEBTOR ALERT:rotfl::rotfl:You've got to laugh! Slummy Mummy had me laughing out loud tonight while reading while trying to make DS stay in bed...might do a better job if i concentrate!
Julie Relax, enjoy your wine and breathe!

Right off to watch Avatar - £8 Asda will be on ebay before lunch tomorrow and usually make the Asda price back! Not that I think I want to watch it but DH does, will drink the wine and pretend to pay attention!

    Afternoon all,

Swimming was fine, DS was doing roll overs under the water, he thinks he's very cool!

Not such a supermummywife today, that great idea of cleaning, you know the one I had yesterday where I thought that by the end of today my house would be all sparkly and shiney............well it hasnt happened....................cant be bothered!!!!!!!! Infact I think its worse today cant even be bothered to shout at kids to tidy up their toys!

Just cant be bothered doing anything really, feeling a bit low today, dont know why, nothing has happened, maybe just cause I know the letters and tokens are now in the post and it is all real I really am in this mess!

O yeah just remembered, had a phone call from Estate Agent today (my house has been on market for a year, not 1 viewer), advised me I should drop the price by 45k or rethink selling. Maybe this could be the cause of my lack of botherednes.

Was never really 100% sure about selling anyway, main reason for sale was its quite an old house and there just always seems to be something needing done and we never have the money to do it properly. Also we're never going to be able to get a mortgage now anyway, had originally thought we could just switch our current mortgage to the new property without adding anything on. But with the big drop in price dont think we could do that so we would just end up having to rent, which in some ways would be good but then we think if we can just keep going with the house at least it something we have for later in life to sell or for kids inheritance.

Im rambling now, sorry, just feeling very blue:(
    BIG hugs AndyD:grouphug:
I know what you mean. HTB and I are in a 1 bed flat and I couldn't imagine anyone will ever give us a mortgage in the future and got obsessed about the fact we would be stuck in a 1 bed for the next 15 years:eek: Then I thought about selling, paying off debts and renting somewhere bigger, but then I thought, I've worked hard for my home and we need to be happy now and who knows what will happen in the future. Hopefully the property market will recover in the next few years and we can make back what we've lost. I think if you hold on a little longer you will be glad you kept your housey:)

Well we have finally done it:eek: have written all the letters and enclosed token payments saying we will begin the dmp in June. We are going the self administered route. I have cancelled all the DD's. I feel sick and relieved all at the same time. Hopefully they will all accept. Our main creditor is HSBC who we have a cred card, OD and loan. Has anyone had any dealings with them? We are both worried about the possibility of debt collectors knocking on the door. As for our credit rating, I am sure that was already shot to pieces! I know I am just rambling now:rotfl:I suppose I just want someone to say we have done the right thing, but in any case we couldn't carry on the way we were. I am sure the hardest bit is yet to come:o

I think you have done the right thing. I am in the initial stages of DMP and keep thinking, have a done the right thing but I think the best thing is this forum. I'd never imagined I could find such supportive, heartwarming and funny people on a website. I am so greatful to be with you all:A

Mama DD did spot the ever so well placed 'free gift' with the LK shoes, but thankfully she was far more interested in trying to rearrange the shelves!

All paddles super dooper charged

Hope you enjoyed the film, just watched last nights doctor who  so scared of angels now :A:A:A really shouldnt watch such scary things before bed !

All this talk of cleaning is making me feel very inferior! Might have to wave a duster round in a halfhearted fashion :rotfl:
