Afternoon all,
Swimming was fine, DS was doing roll overs under the water, he thinks he's very cool!
Not such a supermummywife today, that great idea of cleaning, you know the one I had yesterday where I thought that by the end of today my house would be all sparkly and shiney............well it hasnt happened....................cant be bothered!!!!!!!! Infact I think its worse today cant even be bothered to shout at kids to tidy up their toys!
Just cant be bothered doing anything really, feeling a bit low today, dont know why, nothing has happened, maybe just cause I know the letters and tokens are now in the post and it is all real I really am in this mess!
O yeah just remembered, had a phone call from Estate Agent today (my house has been on market for a year, not 1 viewer), advised me I should drop the price by 45k or rethink selling. Maybe this could be the cause of my lack of botherednes.
Was never really 100% sure about selling anyway, main reason for sale was its quite an old house and there just always seems to be something needing done and we never have the money to do it properly. Also we're never going to be able to get a mortgage now anyway, had originally thought we could just switch our current mortgage to the new property without adding anything on. But with the big drop in price dont think we could do that so we would just end up having to rent, which in some ways would be good but then we think if we can just keep going with the house at least it something we have for later in life to sell or for kids inheritance.
Im rambling now, sorry, just feeling very blue:(LBM - March 2010Paddle no. 15 :j0 -

Nope, I'm with you mate - although I suspect that would be different if there was a Primark in Cornwall! I think the closest one to me is Plymouth which is a good hour and a half away so I'll stick to Asda for nowPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Think I might be able to stop:wall:with dh. In asda today said he was thirsty at check out and he went to but a cold bottle of pop from the handy super expensive check out fridge.....then he went off and bought the asda 2l bottle of coke instead....Has he got it????
If you'd have asked me yesterday I'd have said it was a fluke - but I've just sent DH to Tesco for pizza, and he came home and said, "I thought it would be cheaper to buy frozen but I got two for the price of one on the fresh ones" - doesn't sound like much, but in our Tesco the fresh and the frozen stuff are at opposite ends of the store so this means that he has actually WALKED from one end of the shop to the other just to check prices  unheard of for a man, surely (sorry Prof)!!

Well we have finally done it:eek: have written all the letters and enclosed token payments saying we will begin the dmp in June. We are going the self administered route. I have cancelled all the DD's. I feel sick and relieved all at the same time. Hopefully they will all accept. Our main creditor is HSBC who we have a cred card, OD and loan. Has anyone had any dealings with them? We are both worried about the possibility of debt collectors knocking on the door. As for our credit rating, I am sure that was already shot to pieces! I know I am just rambling now:rotfl:I suppose I just want someone to say we have done the right thing, but in any case we couldn't carry on the way we were. I am sure the hardest bit is yet to come:o
Well done Julie!! I'm self-managing and I've got an OD with HSBC and they've been ok so far, have stopped charges but not interest yet, but I'm sure they will once they see I'm seriousalso they've never sent a debt collector around so try not to worry about that, even if they do you can tell them to go away because they're trespassing! You have totally done the right thing and I'm sure things will get better from here on in
xx

:grouphug: hugs Andy....if it helps, I've been there - although my estate agent was one of my oldest friends (the only one I've confided the debt issues too) and he told me I was mad to even consider selling because getting back on the ladder would be so difficult considering the way the market has been moving. If I were you I'd seriously think about keeping the house, especially if you can't achieve what its worth - at the end of the day, renting will probably cost you more than owning in the long run anyway, and every payment you make to your mortgage just brings the debt down iyswim.
Try to keep your chin up, remember we have weekends off on this threadxx

Thanks everyone. I have calmed down a bit now. I know its the right thing to do. We cant pay massive amounts at the minute but hopefully will be able up the payments if DH gets a contract he is waiting to hear about.I know next week will be stressful waiting for the !!!!!! to hit the fan. Not so worried about 2 of the creditors as we don't owe massive amounts but the HSBC is about £19,000 in total give or take a few penniies. Its good to hear they have been reasonable with others. We had aproached them in the past to add the three things together and lower the payments and they refused so perhaps they will finally see we are really serious and cannot afford the monthly payments any longer.
Anyway enough, going to try and enjoy the BH Wk end and cook a nice meal for us, might even open a bottle:D Its good to know you have all been there and survived.Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi everyone
Well today was the first day living without credit. Pay went into new bank account Halifax Reward they gave me £5 every month.
Anyway today was an experience me and my wife went shopping and you know what it can be done. We spent £23.00 on shopping and that included a bottle of wine for a birthday pressie for about 3/5 of the week admittedly we will need more but its a start. Bought my first garment from Peacocks used a 40% discount voucher which in the past would have been thrown away. Bought the Sun Mewspaper and got 6 multipack of crisps free so bought another one £1.20 for 12 walkers crisps thats the kids lunches and mine for a week.
Quite an interesting day. Having a Jack Daniels whilst I wait for someone to collect an item I sold on Ebay so that is £87.00 in to my account.
Thanks for all the support you are all an inspiration and you know what from today onwards my spending habits will change and every penny will be accounted for.
Have a good evening everyone.

Afternoon all,

Do not apoligise for rambling that is what we are here for. Over the last couple of days I have been up down and at some points feeling so low well we will not go there. But you know what I look at what I have a wife and 2 beautiful girls and you know what if you do not address the problem it will only get worse so your doing the right thing and you know what over the years the banks have had their money back with the interest they charge.
I in some respects the banks are to blame in someway for the predicament we fine ourselves in. They up our credit limits without even considering our disposable income or personal circumstance that aside we are still responsible and you know what we all want to pay our way we just want to do it our way rather than the way the banks want.
At the end of the day they cannot have what you have not got. If they take you to court the judge will almost rule in your favour as long as you keep up your monthly payments. As for selling your house I would keep hold of that.
Keep your chin up and do what I do seek help from the other people on this forum.
Its Sunday tomorrow no post no call centres calling so just enjoy the day and enjoy your life.
Remember DO NOT LET THE BA****DS GRIND YOU DOWN.

Well you know what I lay on the sofa last night with my 9yr old daughter and as she lay sleeping I looked at her and thought they can have my money but they cannot take away what is precious to me and thats my family. I will give them their money back and you know what no being able to get credit is even better it forces me to save for things or shop around and it also an education for my daughters as they will see me handing cash over rather than plastic credit cards. So hopefully they will learn to save for things rather than just buy and worry about paying later.
I feel great at the moment. Do not know how long this will last but live for the day.
Hugs to everyone out there.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j
