£300 in two months is really good! I'd love to see that sort of decrease, how amazing to actually see the figures coming down!
When we reach the end of DFW creek I think all OH's should babysit and all us paddlers should have a round of pub golf

Barclaycard
Just read on another thread that Barclaycard refuse to stop or reduce interest this is quite frightening has anyone had interest frozen by Barclaycard? Please let me have your experiences.
Another guy started his DMP and ended up with more debt with Barclaycard however when he wrote to them they did refund the charges.
Please tell me your experiences. I feel like the grim reaper.

Mikon you are a panic merchant!!! Calm down and relax a bit you're going to give yourself a heart attack. Barclaycard are no worse and no better than most of the banks. As I told you they accepted both of our accounts right away and stopped interest right away. They won't write to you, they seem to just amend the amount due and put it all on your statement. I think some of the others on here were treated in a similar manner.
So calm down, have a wee glass of something and try to forget for the weekend, your health is much more important than any creditor and they are simply NOT worth the worry.More than Two Years in

Barclaycard are the only ones who have phoned me. Took me three phonecalls back to get to the bit that did phone. I just said I'm with Pay Plan and on a DMP please deal with PP. Next month the statement arrived, they cashed the PP money £157, did charge £53 interest. But both the interest and the amount I'm paying them is about £100 less per month than I was paying, so fair enough. Does sound like they have loads of departments that don't know what left and right are doing.
So try not to worry. :beer:Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hi Albie,
is this the kind of thing you were looking for?

Re:− Account/Reference Number ACC NO
I would like to inform you that I am having difficulties raising the monthly repayment of XXX due to YOUR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES. I am seeking help from [DEBT CHARITY NAME] and intend to shortly produce a statement of affairs / repayment plan.
While I seek advice, can I ask you to suspend enforcement action on this account for at least 28 days, and also charges and interest? I am aware that you have a good reputation for going beyond the Banking Codes minimum requirements to deal sympathetically with individuals in trouble.
Can you also send me any policy documents / information leaflets etc you produce for someone in my circumstances?
Yours Faithfully

There's also one further back on this thread from the Prof.... wonder how Prof is getting on????

Hi Mikon,
You sound like me over the past few weeks...I researched tooo much in the end on the web and although doing your homework is good, I found I actually did my own head in!:o
My proposed payment with PP will mean my debt will take forever to be paid:eek: but I do intend to up the payments significantly in the first 12 months if hubbie to be gets new job:). I was paniking this morning that my creditors will think as my payments are pretty low and initially it looks as though it will take 15 years to clear:eek::eek:, the won't accept my DMP:(. However I must hold onto the fact that I need to live for a few months and will then hopefully up the payments.
Plus I called Payplan again this morning about the fact I forgot OH and I have a dispute on a large item we purchased with Barclaycard:o and flapped and flapped until I spoke to yet another lovely person at PP, who got me to chill, advised my case officer will call me next week to discuss everything again and any concerns I have I can voice them then. I felt instantly better:T Have to remember its good to talk, as ole Bob Hoskins or whoever used to say and its even better to post:T:T
Sorry I was in the flow of typing too much then!Debt £22k (ish):eek:LBM April 2010DFD - work in progressPaddle no. 26"whether you think you can or you can't, your probably right"0 -
True, I also love your puppywuppy! soooo cute!! You look FAB, by the way:)
Thanku to everyone who posted the template letters for me:A:A
I am going to get the letters typed and ready to go over the weekend, speak to my case officer at PP on Wednesday - by then my pack should arrive in post. Also the outcome of the purchase dispute with Barclaycard should be known. Then I can just slot the dates in my letters, get the postal orders sorted and I'm off:j:j
Bring it on creddyweddies!!

Dear Sir/Madam
Account number:
Since making the above mentioned agreement with you my circumstances have changed.
I do want to repay my debts but at the present time I am not in the position to pay the minimum monthly payments. I have recently contacted the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) who offer a non fee-charging Debt Management Plan, which I hope to start on June 1st.
In the interim month or so I shall make a token monthly payment(s) of £1.00 as a sign of good faith see enclosed postal order. As soon as I have updated my situation and the Debt Management Plan is fully set up I / CCCS will contact you again.
During this period, could you please freeze interest and/or any other charges accruing on the above account.
As other people answer the telephone who are not aware of my financial situation, ie, my children. I would ask that all correspondence between us should be in writing. CCCS have advised me that I request that my telephone numbers be removed from my account/records.
I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.
Yours faithfully
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
I am now going to stop panicking, need to think of my health. Have a good weekend everyone.
