    aw shucks!!!

seriously about the thread, I think it would be a good idea to make it more accessible for any DMP starters and I nominate you Tedsd, you are the most constant of all of us originial paddlers (which actually we weren't at the time, were we?)(paddlers I mean) so go for it girl!!!

sounds good, change to anyone starting a DMP, and support and help should probably be in there as well, what do you think, we've actually not got that long

    Hiya

Hope these words come out in the right order!! I think anyone could start a new thread but it would be nice if it was someone who was sticking around incase the words in the first post get changed. I know there's been some talk about links to Debtline, Paypal and CCCS. I don't think we need to duplicate the work that Martin and his experts do but it's useful to signpost these things for newbies. First page could be work in progress. As you know I mentioned some time ago I felt a little uneasy with the title being in 2010 as I hope we'll all agree we want to be inclusive and welcoming. Most of you will be aware that the thread and the two before were started by Nataz. Tracing back the history it would appear she did it as a DF diary and it snowballed, as these things do. My preference would be for the title to have reference to paddling as homage to Nataz. My only concern is that I feel the introduction ought to say something about this is one of the DMP support diary threads and everyone welcome. The reason I say so is I wouldn't want for it to seem it was at odds with the other well established (and pre paddler) DMP mutual support thread.

As Nataz appears to have gone AWOL (hopefully a good sign) I propose Teds be our team captain and start the new thread for us all. Hope you don't feel pressured by that Teds but hey if you can do half term and survive Alton Towers we know you're more than capable!

    Hope that helps

the paddlers was the second or third incarnation
    here is the first https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2218613
we used to be in the DFW to start with and then got moved over to diaries, I think we all complained cos we felt that we would pick up more bodies on DFW.
agree we should drop the 2010, mention help and support and keep the Paddlers as this was Nat's idea, only got another six posts to sort this out guys!!!

    Hi Guys

Well the postman has been busy around my door this week received another letter from a preditor regarding my review. It was from M & S they have accepted the £21.20 reduction per month. They also sent me a default notice which did not bother me as I thought they already had and also they have breach regulations because the default notice should be served within the first 6 months so I believe.

How ironic is this HFC refuse to accept £1 something reduction on a £200 debt yet M & S accept a £20 odd reduction on a £6,000 debt. No consistency at all.

As for a new thread can we ensure that we make everyone aware of the new thread so we do not loose the great support we have from the people on this forum. Can we also make people on the DMP Mutual Support Thread forum aware of our forum because I know sometimes we duplicate threads on there or at least I do see link below.

I second Tedsd as the guy to organise the new thread.

I certainly vote for keeping the "Without a Paddle.... support for DMPs" I welcome the idea of helping any newcomers but do like the ongoing reading of those who started around the same time I did and hope that some will finish before me and inspire me on my journey.

Talking of name changes, Payplan are changing their "JustaBank" name to "Payplanplus" I kind of liked the anonimity of Justabank.

My first month of slightly reduced payments has not yet brought any letters or phonecalls, so hope going into the 2nd month it continues.

Tad OTT I see a question was asked on the site forum, if you could claim PPI if you had defaulted and the answer was yes, but they might use that money (if you win) to pay them back. I think I will look into the M&S and HSBC PPIs that I had. I also wonder, since they would benefit, if they are more likely to give you the money if you have defaulted and are on a DMP? Creative accounting?
