true hellloooo luv the doggywoggy and the v pretty bride!

ljm well done on the new shiny halo... lots of extra cash, thats what I like to see. I still pay a bit for my hair, but its my only luxury, well at least thats my excuse :rotfl:

andy I see the wise words have already been spoken, chin up, it'll all come good in the wash Im sure.

Well we've reached the end of another month and my debts gone down by over £300 since feb. Prob more than we've been able to pay off in a long time. Monthly budgets are still a grey area, doesnt help that petrol has gone mega expensice, esp for up here. Maybe living in the country was not a great idea :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: far too many hills to bike anywhere.

Whats everyone up to for this glorious bank hol? Dh informed me hes off on a pub crawl on monday, must be nice for some!!

£300 in two months is really good! I'd love to see that sort of decrease, how amazing to actually see the figures coming down!

When we reach the end of DFW creek I think all OH's should babysit and all us paddlers should have a round of pub golf :D

There I've been a very good mummy/wife all afternoon, done all the ironing and put it all away, folded the towels (even i'll be glad to have a towel in the bathroom), dinner is almost ready and ive tidied up (a bit). So tomorrow I'll tackle the cleaning!, thats after swimming lessons of course, cant wait till they end have been going 9am every saturday for 3 years, only have a few weeks left as i've cut them out of my budget, they are really expensive and to be truthfull not really worth it, so I have decided to be very brave and risk putting on a swimsuit to take them myself:eek:, not a pretty site i can assure you, but I have lost a couple of stone and am still trying to lose more so maybe i will be very brave and go through with it!

Off to work soon Boooooooo, catch up with you all tomorrow, have a nice evening.

  • Hi Ted and all, doing very well. First payment out tomorrow, no news from creditors at all, no letters or phone calls for nearly 2 weeks. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and we all relax and forget our money worries, have to say it feels a lot easier when the DMP is finally set up.
I think more than 6 weeks on token payments must be difficult and totally admire anyone who has to go through that. PP

Hi everyone and thanks for all your kind comments and hugs.

Feeling a little better today. Rang Barclays Bank re Bankloan they seemed quite positive offered me their in house DMP first but I told them I was with CCCS and had to be seen to be fair to all creditors. My account was not with the collections dept so there was very little they could do. I advised that a token payment was in the post the told me to contact them again when I had CCCS ref no.

Barclaycard seemed to understand requested that that contact be made in writing they agreed to that. Then about 1hr after conversation the phone rang saying a BT message had been left so I pressed 1 and it said contact Barclaycard urgently. I am not. I have made contact sent token payment and I will just wait and see so I felt quite good but now having a bit wobble. I hope it is just that they have not cleared the system.

Feeling good though and you know what i read what everyone had said and it inspired me and made me feel good. The reality is

I could not go on so I have addressed it and am moving forward. On the day that Barclays announced profits of £1.8billion they could write my debt off.

Thank you everyone Albiebabes did you get your template?

  • Here's my (now well used) token letter again for anyone else who needs it.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account number: **********************

Since making the above mentioned agreement with you my circumstances have changed.

I do want to repay my debts but at the present time I am not in the position to pay the minimum monthly payments. I have recently joined Payplan who offer a non fee-charging debt management plan, which I hope to start on May 1st. (ID no: ********)

In the interim month or so I shall make a token monthly payment(s) of £** as a sign of good faith. As soon as I have updated my situation and the Debt management plan is fully set up I / Payplan will contact you again.

As other people answer the telephone who are not aware of my situation, ie, my children. I would ask that all correspondence between us should be in writing.

I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.

    Yours faithfully

  • good for you Mikon, don't worry about the BT message, the banks have really really slow communication protacols so they won't have sorted you out in the system yet. In the beginning (I sound all biblical here!!!) Barclaycard used that with us but we just ignored them, no call backs and they accepted our DMP no bother and were one of the first to stop interest. So you will be fine........

Hi Prof!!! Sounds like all is going well for you... I lasted 4 months on tokens but have finally got there!

    Have a good weekend :)

Wow, I forgot how long you were on them for.
It's interesting how life saving this thread was/still is for us and is now for many others, would have been very difficult to go through the initial stages without it.
    Enjoy the long weekend. PP
