    Hi

Can I join this merry throng? I am currently embarking on a DMP after trying all sorts of avenues and not suceeding.

I am in the good hands of CCCS and have just completed all my letters to creditors, opened a new bank account and just need to return my docs to CCCS.

I keep thinking, as some of you seem to, have I done the right thing BUT things were going to come to a head one way or another so I suppose I am.

It will be interesting the responses I get from the creditors I have been paying correctly, the others are probably half expecting this to be honest.

Lets see what happens next week as all my DD loan and cc payments are due and I think it will be quite horrendous when the phone starts.

    Wish me luck

Hi everyone, just making a pit stop before DH comes back from walking the dogs as I can't be bothered with the "what are you doing?" if I'm on here too long!!

Like a few others I also had the cleaning urge this weekend so I got out my v expensive (bought on credit, of course) carpet shampooer and got stuck in. Heres the silly bit....
In my whole house I have carpet on the stairs and one bedroom, plus one rug. Does that justify £300 on a carpet shampooer? No, didn't think so......And, I've wrecked my back again:mad:

Anyway, we are making good use of the holiday weekend. Kids club at the cinema, £2 each and in laws gave us the cash and we brought our own sweets then a picnic at a national trust property, then off to a national trust family fun day tomorrow, free in as we are members!

Did I see a new name or two? If so, welcome and good luck to those just getting started, it is nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, trust me!

We are all set up and just waiting for the first payment to go out on 15th May. So far so good :T
It's a bit scary at first but I can honestly say it's not been as bad as I expected. Yes, we got phone calls but they weren't excessive.
We've found Capital One & Santander have been the worst  . Cap1 with the phone calls, Santander sent scary letters & had one very snotty phone call.
CCCS are really supportive though & will advise you if you're worried or struggling plus this forum is ace!! :)

Hi everyone and welcome Eyeopener to the Good Ship I'm in Debt Get me out of here

Had a good day yesterday but woke up this morning with debt on my mind. I keep telling myself "I am addressing my problem and i cannot meet the minimum payments so doing the DMP is the best way forward better than ignoring things" However I still worry. I just wish things were up and running with the CCCS and my creditors have agreed to the monthly payments. Next week will bring more phone calls and letters oh how I dread it.

On a good note we had a NSD. So we are doing quite well on the spending front. Going to have a drink and try and relax for the remaining hours. Bring on tomorrow of to the National Trust property (free day out) picnic so no lunch money.

Off to see a man called Jack Daniels he lives in a glass.

Thank you for the kind words.

I don't really dread letters, I can easily deal with them. Phone calls are a different matter altogether.

For some reason when I write a letter I am in total control, I research everything and away I go.

On a phone call I end up agreeing to everything, if they phone work , oh dear that will be awful.

I was advised by CCCS to ask my creditors to remove my telephone number from my accounts/records. I did this in writing when I sent off my token payments.

Its early days for me so not sure how it will work out. Also I have rang all my creditors and informed them of my situation and at that point I also requested my phone number be removed.

Hope everything goes well for you keep us updated.
