Dear Sir/Madam
Re:- Account/Reference Number XXXX
I’m are writing to inform you that I’m seeking advice and assistance from Payplan/CCCS regarding my current financial difficulties.
I’m finding it increasingly difficult to meet your monthly payment request so please accept the enclosed postal order for £1 as a token gesture of goodwill.
I would appreciate if you could hold any action on the above account for a period of at least 28 days.
Also, during this period, could you please freeze interest and/or any other charges accruing on the above account.
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully0 -
Afternoon
Who asked about expenses. We're with CCCS and they way they advised me was to take my expenses out of the budget but leave my car allowance in as it pays my car HP and business insurance. So generally my expenses are for petrol and parking and the odd coffee that can't go on the company credit card. So I use my expenses payment to fund the next months expenses iyswim??? Just don't include them as income is the answer I think. Good luck with it and welcome Paolo, I think your creditors have to give you 28 days breathing space to set up your DMP, try quoting your number at them. and I'm afraid that wonkymoney or whatever they are called cannot have special rules just for them so they will have to go in your DMP and like it or lump it. If its any consolation they will not take your to court for £170, it costs a minimum of £500 to raise a court case anyway, so try not to worry, it will get sorted.
Raquela hope you get a job soon, its so frustrating............

cheers pdd,
I know I shouldn't worry too much and I know that I'm doing the right thing. It's just difficult sometimes because it's only a couple of creditors that are playing hardball so far and I could easily pay them off right away but obviously I won't because that would make me guilty of preferential payments and land me in more trouble, not to mention the fact that it is just a papering over the cracks rather than addressing the problem and taking the most viable and responsible course of action, as I believe I have done.
Hopefully by the end of the week when my DMP confirmation has come through and I have made my token payments, I will be able to rest a little easier.
To be honest, I'm not even angry about the situation because ultimately it's my fault for getting into debt and these people are just doing their jobs, which probably aren't that much fun to do.
Oh well, at least it's sunny outside and my boss is buying us all a beer after work because it's his birthday..jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -
Thanks PDD, it was me that was enquiring. I know what you mean about using this months to fund next months outlay, need to keep some reserve too as sometimes they don't get paid in each month but I will of course still have the outlay. The next point is that I get a reasonably generous petrol reimburement, this is because the amount meant to be for wear and tear, i.e in a round about way I will be expected to sort car costs, repairs and replacement car. After I paid cost of petrol this is approx £100 -£200 a month. I don't know where to stash this in readiness for the inevitable car bills, eg any saving account, under the bed etc! Am concerned I need to get it right especially as I'm worried if I get forced down a type of disclosure route I don't want to look deceptive but I do genuinally need to keep for the car or no work!

I have money in my CCCS budget for insurance, tax and repairs, I stick this into my saver account which is with the co-op and it mounts up every month and can take care of bills for the car when they come up, I then drive on my expenses money iyswim???More than Two Years in

Hi all, sorry havnt been on for a while, been busy round house trying to gather up things to sell so far have raised £200 selling some of my baby equipment in local free ads paper, i really need my hall decorated so im trying to raise the cash! Its very strange as this is probably the first time i've saved for anything its normally just reach for the credit card.
No further on with the dmp as im waiting for the paperwork to come through from co-op for my new bank accounts, applied for them last week and have been approved so i imagine with no flights the post is being delayed coming over to NI.
Catch up again soon off to work again tonight but im off tomorrow:j.

I'd say a savings account. Apparently Principality lets you store different bits of money in different little 'pots' so you can allocate it to different things. I'm thinking of looking in to it for us, would be good I think.0 -
Hi Andy - Coop shouldn't be too long, I applied online last Monday, by Tuesday afternoon they let me call into a branch to get account details, welcome pack by Thursday, Debit card on Saturday and cheque book yesterday and pin today, all done in 9 days, impressed! Will keep my fingers crossed you get sorted soon.
Thanks to Rhian and PDD - savings account is what I'm hoping to do. Two further questions, a) you can tell I have never saved and budgetted effectively before - confused re all the isa talk. If I stash car money in savings account do I need to pay tax on it? b) I'm not sure what path my creditors will take yet, if I have to go to court can they make me show this savings account. Sorry to be bombarding you!

You don't pay tax on your savings - only on the interest you get on them. Depends on how much you have and how long it's in the account for whether this really matters to you.0
