Any news from VicB re HSBC i'm sure it would be the right thing to do as it shows your taking out more debt i think? i may be barking up the wrong tree?

    Catch you all laters x

Morning everyone, just a fleeting visit today, crazy busy at work. CRAZY.

Gabriella - I spoke to CCCS yesterday and they didn't seem too concerned with the more credit side of it, more that I shouldn't accept as it wasn't 0%. I've sent them the paperwork for them to have a look at so we'll see what they say (they'll be able to pick out any dodgy bits in the small print!).

I think IF (and a big IF!) HSBC reduce to 0% then it's worth doing, but if they don't then I'll battle on!...

    Have a good day x

  • Staggering conversation with Halifax yesterday, they showed interest and charges on the last two statements, and applied them, so i wrote a polite letter asking them to free charges and popped it into the post yesterday, however i thought i would just give them a call also and see what i could do.

The chap was genuinely helpfull and friendly, and put me on hold for a minute or two, before coming back and saying that charges would be stopped, interest would be at 1%, and this would be in place for 12 months.

Thats every creditor i have now agreed to freeze interest for the forseeable, and i have not had one crossed letter or one single phone call from any of them since i started the DMP.

Best thing i have ever done.

Hi everyone, I just got my first statement from barclaycard since the phone stalking incident and the *&^%!!!s are charging 3% interest.

I know its not too bad and they are my smallest credit card debt (2 smaller catalogue ones) but I only was paying 9% interest before. Oh well, could be much worse, its an extra 2.76 per month.....

    Hi guys,

Well, as of this morning (well 5pm yesterday really) I am unemployed. Obviously not ideal. My agency has nothing else at the minute, and none of the others seem to either, judging by the lack of beating down my door going on!

On the plus side, my phone has been strangely quiet so far today. Maybe they got the letter from the CCCS this morning, I don't know, but I was getting around 12 missed calls a day since I last posted, starting at 8.30ish, and today nothing! Let's hope it lasts, eh.

To the person who was looking for flexible work, sorry, can't remember user name, can you touch type? The transcription company I work for in my spare time is usually looking for people. You need to be a fast accurate typist with a good idea to do transcription work, as much of the work is transcribing group interviews, and you need to be able to distinguish between different voices. But I make at least minimum wage on it. You'd need to register as self employed though, don't know if that puts you off! I can generally earn about £150 a month doing that on top of my (now non-existent) day job, it's very flexible though.

Hi - Can you PM with the details as well. Is it home working?

Really sorry to hear about your work situation. Hope the situation improves very soon for you. Was it you that also boosted about other ways to boost income? Saw it somewhere and can't recall. I looked into mystery shopping once, not sure if I just had a bad experience but they just seemed to want to know everything about me and offer nothing! Keen to look at other ways but would need something flexible enough to fit in with the day job. Am I asking too much?

Also need to check out where the freebies and competitions are. anyone know?

    HHx

Hmm, not sure if me or not! I know mystery shopping and the daily clicks work for some people, but I'll be completely honest, I can't be bothered with it! I'd rather spend my time online doing something a bit more constructive and that makes more than a few quid here and there. The mystery shopping is good if you go to those places anyway, but I'm not (I'm thinking about the macdonalds and pizza hut type ones in particular). I do the free bingo scratchcards though.

Since I've been doing transcription I don't really do a lot of other making money type things, other than surveys, and I sell stuff on Amazon and Ebay. If I've got spare time but don't want to pick up a full transcription, I transcribe voicemails for Quicktate, as they pay more regularly. I'm hoping the transcription will mean I don't have to sign on. I have been offered a one day a week shop job which would involve a 30 second commute(!), would only be min wage though.

The Up Your Income board is always worth a visit for other ideas for money making endeavours though!
