Hi Raquela, sorry about the day job, how does that leave your DMP?

Hiya, well, I have enough in the bank for May's payment currently, and fingers crossed I'll get something else sorted very soon so that I have enough for June's as well. If I live very frugally I might be ok for June even if things don't work out so soon, as rent isn't due til 22nd May. Thankfully I am fairly employable (hope those weren't famous last words), it's just getting a high enough salary to cover outgoings that's the issue! At least being at home means I'm not using the car, and nice and warm today.

Sadly since last post Triton have phoned once, left voicemail which I'm not picking up because I don't have enough credit, and have texted me. Clearly they're just switching tactics. Why the hell can't they just write me a damn letter?!!

Oops, edited to add, think I have PM'd everyone who asked about typing / transcription. Otherwise please PM me instead of making a note on here, otherwise I might miss you. Also; there are lots of transcription companies out there, so googling transcription work might find you other agencies looking for workers. Not all are as flexible as others in that they require you to be available for a certain number of hours each week (say 16 or 20), and bear in mind that files can sometimes take longer than others, which can be a bit stressful if you have a close deadline. It's definitely not for everyone, but if you can type fast and are accurate it's a good earner, and sometimes very interesting (sometimes the exact opposite!).

Hmm, not sure if me or not! I know mystery shopping and the daily clicks work for some people, but I'll be completely honest, I can't be bothered with it! I'd rather spend my time online doing something a bit more constructive and that makes more than a few quid here and there. The mystery shopping is good if you go to those places anyway, but I'm not (I'm thinking about the macdonalds and pizza hut type ones in particular). I do the free bingo scratchcards though.

Since I've been doing transcription I don't really do a lot of other making money type things, other than surveys, and I sell stuff on Amazon and Ebay. If I've got spare time but don't want to pick up a full transcription, I transcribe voicemails for Quicktate, as they pay more regularly. I'm hoping the transcription will mean I don't have to sign on. I have been offered a one day a week shop job which would involve a 30 second commute(!), would only be min wage though.

The Up Your Income board is always worth a visit for other ideas for money making endeavours though!

Thanks R, am just trying to look at all areas really. I think in reality rather than extra work I need to keep scrutinsing the spending log and seeing what I can get down more and what more I can get for the money that's there. Found the freebies and deal boards at last!

I set my energy bills to £75 with CCCs, would you just know it it has been reassessed by the energy company and raised to £95 today. I don't want to start manipulating the budget before I have got off go. May have a look around and see what there is to learn about the potential to swap providers.

Weather gorgeous outside and the bargain aldi bedding plants £1.65 for a tray of ten are coming along beautifully.

Who else is on for May/June start with their DMP?

Yes, its set at the CCCS amount and no charges, just the 3% interest

Fingers crossed they will fall in line for you soon. Wonder if new financial year affects them more than at other times? Have you tried approaching Alan Whicker? :rotfl:

    Hi,

I'm waiting for my DMP to be set up, it won't be until the 1st of June. In the meantime, all my creditors have started calling me incessantly and emailing me about my accounts with them being in arrears, this despite me having emailed them all yesterday informing them that I am entering a DMP and will be sending them written confirmation of this as well as a token payment.

just now for example, I received an email with the following written in it:

'If you do not make contact, your account will be transferred to our Credit Control Team. I would like to remind you that upon applying for a loan you fully agreed to our terms and conditions, the Consumer Credit Agreement and also verbally confirmed that you were in a position to at the least, repay the interest on its due date. You also agreed that any outstanding balance you had with Cash Genie UK Ltd will fall outside of any debt management programme. You would have also been informed that calls are recorded. '

At the time of taking out this particular loan, I had not entered a DMP and while I understand that they are referring to the outstanding balance falling outside of the DMP, will they really insist on that?

their email then goes on to detail various courses of action they will take to recover the debt, which is of £170, including doorstep collectors etc..

The CCCS are sending me a letter for me to forward to my creditors which I should receive today and can then forward on tomorrow.

should I respond again to these emails stating that this is what I have been advised to do by the CCCS?

also, I cancelled my cards and direct debits to stop payments going out on the day they were due, the CCCS advised me to do this while I wait for the DMP to be set up, so my question is, how do I send them a token payment? do I send them a cheque? Do I pay cash into their account at the bank branch or should I send postal orders?

Most people send postal orders, that's what we're doing.

We are! One more month of token payments (to get the brakes on the car sorted), then should be starting 1 June. Will feel good to be getting somewhere.

    Hi BP and Welcome!

    I'm also starting in June.

This email sounds pretty standard from what I have learnt on here recently. CCCs are very efficient and you are likely to receive the agreement to sign in the next day or too. I applied at the weekend online and it had arrived by Tuesday! Inside this is has a DMP notification letter you can send to each creditor. I used one of the national debtline template letters too referencing my DMP number and asking them to accept my token payment. Most people go down the postal order route as you don't need a signature (just incase they are not reaonable with you and you want to consider going for enforce with CCA etc at a later date.)

    Hope that helps.

I'm also due to start mine on the 1st of June. I'm just worried about what's going to happen in between now and then. I'm being contacted by my creditors all day long, both by phone and by email, some phone calls are even coming through the reception desk at work..

Once the token payments have been received, will the barrage of calls/emails ease up a bit?

Going on other peoples experience we can expect that the issue may go on for a few months. The other DMP support thread has some good stroies relating to this too. I think there's two things you could look at, a)they are meant to give you one months space whilst you get sorted out and b) you can insist they only contact you in writting. I would politely ask their name if they call at work and make sure you quote it in the letter to the company. the plea to contact only in writting and the harrassment letter if it then doesn't stop are on the national debtline website. Alternatively Ianmak on the other thread is usually very helpful and particularily adept at finding old posts/letter etc
