    Morning Everyone!

How gorgeous was the weather at the weekend? Spent most of it in the garden - heaven :)

Candypops - I have same issue with Barclaycard, not a peep out of them apart from statement (which just showed missed payments and my £5 goodwill). First CCCS payment will go to them Friday/Monday so we'll see what happens!

Gabriella - WELL DONE on the job, fantastic news!! :j:j

PP - can't believe that about MBNA, we don't stand a chance do we??

Just a bit of news from me....HSBC are BACK!! Duh duh duh....!!!

This is going to be a bit vague as I didn't read the letter properly on Friday and then avoided it all weekend :o

Basically I think they're offering to replace my current loan (£8.5k) with another (£10k ish) where the payments match what CCCS are offering (well £2 less) per month. It will last 5.5 years, which is roughly what I was expecting with the DMP anyway (usless I can shave some months off).

So...I'd still be paying them interest, which isn't ideal, but then as it's seen as another loan (I need to sign paperwork and send back) it shouldn't (hopefully) effect my credit rating too much.

Any of you guys had this with HSBC? Any advice? I'm going to call the CCCS today/tomorrow.

I do need to re-read the letter properly and check the small print as there could be something I'm missing!

    Oooh Vic

Don't take another loan, I don't think they are allowed to offer other loans to DMPers. You might be making the debt enforcable , as you are starting again and signing for it, oooooh don't until you've spoken to CCCS.

    Good luck

Hi VicB, are you saying they are consolidating their loan with your other CCs, can't remember what you owe? How much would you be paying in total if you do it through CCCS? Get your point though re your credit rating not being affected if you take this route...Phone CCCS, they will be able to spot any pitfalls...

No this would just be the HSBC loan, nothing to do with the other CCs/OD, so not any better off from that point of view?? Tis very confusing :(

Calling CCCS tomorrow, my heroes :A

  • Hi guys
My Monday was going quite well until I opened a letter from Santander which was a bit scary . The letter said we had contacted them offering to voluntarily give them our car in order to pay our loan (loan taken to buy car). Ermmm...no, we hadn't done that!! I rang Santander and spoke to Mr Snotty who basically kept saying not accepting DMP, blah, blah, blah. I just said very politely (even though I felt like vomiting/crying) that unfortunately this is what is happening.

I phoned CCCS who reassured me everything is ok, these are scare tactics that they regularly use and payments will be sent regardless.

Phew...going for a walk with a friend now to chill out a bit.

Have a good evening everyone!

All ok here Ted, thanks, was v fed up last week, felt like I couldn't afford anything and I was never going to get anywhere - I want/need a job but because of the OH's job and hours it's not easy to find something, if I get a job it has to slot around everyone else IYSWIM, but that's a whole other story.

Ooooh but I did get my Halifax statement (they where charging me £5 a day for 'unauthorised' overdraft) and it seem's they've finally stopped with the mad charges - nothing added this month anyway - so fingers crossed.

Hi all, I've now started my DMP so, can I get a paddle number!? By name, by number!
Can't believe I didn't spot this earlier, but I am a right lil lurker so maybe thats why it passed me by.
Just had a lil rant on my original post, however there is some celebration this week - I discovered a sainsburys supermarket 8 miles from where I live/work which is cheaper than the co-operative supermarket 6 miles from where I live/work - Yep, its an expensive supermarket and an extra two miles away but is way cheaper than co-op, is open until 9 and I can cycle to it as it has bike friendly locking places.
